Rep Tom Garrett
Praying for his complete recovery.
That said, My Gosh, where do we find these guys and aren’t there others who can win without being hamstrung with ‘afflictions’?
If it’s true, maybe he’s getting ahead of a story and it will help his district down the road to announce his decision now.
At least he sees alcoholism as debilitating to a Congressman and not some sort of weird political superpower that only waxes in strength with incumbency.
I agree. Self-deporting politicians? This is far too weird to be believed on the face of it. Something must be up.
But I agree that Republicans must turn out in numbers at least as strong as they were in 2016 to have further success in draining the swamp.
.... Well ... That said .... The more Republicans I hear that are suddenly stepping down ... The more I am apt to wonder if it was more than just a conspiracy theory ....
Re: “It is odd that so many in the majority party are retiring.”
My guess - they are getting out before Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid go bust.
When interest rates on the national debt start to rise - and they will rise, based on fear that we cannot repay our debts - America is going to have its worst financial crisis in history.
At least I take it he’s from a safe district?
Eh, he must have “done something” that’s threatening to come out soon. Probably not as basic as having aides pick up his dry cleaning.
Party convention in the district to choose the replacement.
District could be competitive but the rat is an anti-semite loon so I think not.
Or he could be doing what millions of us have already done. Openly admitting to being an alcoholic is one of the most difficult steps to recovery, but it has to be done. His next step will be or should be a medical detox and then in-house rehab. From there it’s still an uphill battle but it can be won. There’s 3 levels to alcohol addiction and he must defeat them all. Physical, mental and social. I’m willing to say there’s probably 3 times as many people suffering with alcohol addiction than there are admitted alcoholic’s. Nobody wants to admit to being an addict.
Well, I hope he beats it.
My brother had a problem of the binge drinking variety, he was across the country so I had no idea.
The rat candidate in VA-5, an odious anti-semetic witch, is accusing GOP nominee Denver Riggleman of being an “author” of “Bigfoot erotica” because of a joke picture on his Instagram account, sent to him by his army buddies (his head on bigfoot’s body with a censor bar over the junk).
