But in terms of the Russia investigation, he's embarked pretty clearly on an effort to make everything Mueller does out to be about politics rather than justice, and in doing so, he's winning the argument.

For those who get their news outside the MSM bubble, it is self-apparent that Mueller is all about politics.

I'm not one who can often identify defined or coherent strategy in the President's shoot-from-the-hip gut reaction policy and political choices. But in terms of the Russia investigation, he's embarked pretty clearly on an effort to make everything Mueller does out to be about politics rather than justice

So on one hand he's shoot from the hip not thought through and on the other he's planned and determined and focused.....Typical fake news reporter.

A couple of weeks ago I had gotten all my morning news regarding the middle east, Europe, the North Korea situation as well as some interesting domestic news stories. For lunch I went to the lobby deli where CNN was on.

I waited in line, paid for my meal, then waited in line to receive it. The entire time I was there, CNN was reporting - Stormy Daniels.

I have zero respect for that network. Zero.

What other option does Trump have? His own DOJ is backing this dirty, politically motivated witch hunt 100%. Apart from a couple of House members—who fold every time the FBI and DOJ illegally refuse to hand over unredacted documents—everyone in DC is rooting for Mueller. Trump has got to fight this attempt to destroy his presidency as best he can.

Sessions failed Trump on a massive, fundamental scale. As Trump has said, Jeff is a disgrace.

Mueller did a great job of demonizing himself when he employed shocking and abusing police state tactics to try to bludgeon people around Trump.

Note that no such tactics were ever applied to the Clintons, Soros, the Podestas, etc etc ad nauseum.

Trump is winning his effort to demonize Mueller.

And it is an affront to the majesty of the MSM press.

Mueller is demonizing Mueller. Trump is just observing the personal disintegration.

Well, yeah, what is President Trump supposed to do, nothing? He has the right to talk about the investigation, and the media and deomcrats are welcome to defend Mueller.

The only way Trump can be impeached and/or forced to resign is if they can get his ratings into the low 20s, but it sounds like he’s been ticking upward. You have to get republicans onboard because no way Democrats would have a super majority. That’s the only way a President can be taken out. Well, the other thought, this thing is really only meant to be a cloud over Trump and the party brand. Either way, Trump is wise to point out all its faults and defend himself.

Chris Cillizza has documented the President's obsession with the issue.

That is so rich! It is Inspector Javert-Mueller who is demonically obsessed with the Russia issue and has come up with absolutely nothing.

Trump is focused on draining the swamp, as promised many times during the campaign, and Mueller & Co. are the quintessential swamp. They broke the law in countless ways to destroy candidate Trump and President Trump. We need to be obsessed with restoring the rule of law in this country or we are finished. Thank God President Trump is doing just that.

The longer Mueller drags this thing out, and the more obviously biased people he hires, and the more bogus trumped up charges he brings against fringe characters, the more people see that it is just bitter grapes by the dems and their media lapdogs.

Mueller is the Democrats’ Ken Starr.

He is the most hated man in the country because of the widespread perception his investigation is political in nature.

Impeachment is about politics, not the law. By defining Mueller as a partisan inquisitor, Trump has dealt a death blow to the legitimacy of Mueller’s work.

That is why it would be a huge mistake for Trump to sit down with him. When your enemy is in the process of destroying himself, don’t interfere.

Actually it is Mueller who is losing in his attempt to tarnish President Trump with bogus allegations of impropriety.

Even people who are not Trump supporters can see that after a year and a half of digging Mueller hasn’t come up with one shred of evidence against the president.

But I don’t think Mueller will back off.
He is as dirty as they come.
He isn’t seeking justice - he is seeking to burn the president.
The way he staffed this investigation is proof of that.

I believe Mueller will double down and become even more determined to nail the president.
If need be he will be willing to skirt the law by forcing someone into a false confession against the President.

Mueller is demonizing Mueller. Proof?

Elimination of attorney client privelage.

Mueller should be disbarred.

At minimum.

Mr. Watergate himself, Bob Woodward, has said that if Fox News had been around in 1972 Nixon would probably have survived.
