What is the appeal of McCaskill anyway?

In the last election, she basically picked her republican opponent, even going to the point of running ads for him during the Republican primary. I don’t see her as being that appealing.

Hawley is a big RINO that caused this. I hate him.

What a bunch of nonsense. Hawley had nothing to do with this and obviously this doesn't benefit him at all to have the governor of your own party in scandal when you are running for Senate. And he certainly isn't a RINO and there is also certainly no reason to "hate" him.

You can tell from the other comments on this thread that the Todd Akins treatment is at work on Hawley.

I've seen article attacking Hawley for spending too much time at his current job vs. politicking and also apparently some are upset he apparently likes to go to the gym and work out. Boy, that's a scandal I tell you. If he didn't show up to work at his current job he would almost certainly be attacked for that - drawing a paycheck but not showing up for work.

You are correct. Just before that scandal broke out there were signs the GOP was starting to regain its footing...but that blew the door wide open again and there was no going back.

I see McCaskill winning again.

She’ll then run for president in 2020, she’ll be seen as a moderate Heartland candidate for Democrats.

But McCaskill is to the right politically of some Democrats, she is too “moderate”.

You are not wrong. RS is a politicized process, rooted in Statism (Rhodes believed in the authoritative "Philosopher King"), and ideological driven. The Rhodes trust banned internal results from a study that proved an ideological bias.

I would take a driven Community College graduate over some "programed" Rhodes Scholar any day.

Vote for REPUBLICAN JUDGES, and I could care less about anything else regarding Republicans running for Senate.

It is THAT important. It shouldn’t have to be, but it is.

Missouri is Kansas City and Saint Louis and then the rest of the state. Out state is conservative and votes republican. The two urban areas vote democratic. Six years ago the republicans nominated Congressman Todd Akins . He was a very bad candidate . He never had a chance do to some very stupid statements he made. McCaskill has a big problem in that the state has gotten more conservative since last she ran for office. Greitens was an outsider who beat the odds. I have voted for republicans since I came of legal voting age in 1976. I did not vote for Greitens. That being said the charges that forced him to resign were a farce arranged by the democratic district attorney in Saint Louis. It stunk to high heavens. It made my wife who is conservative but pays little attention to politics when an election is not happening very mad. It is a lot like they are trying to do to President Trump. The system needs a major purge or else a civil war will happen. A lot of citizens are fed up.

We won’t get the best Republican candidates until we stop having open primaries. Too often democrat cross-over voters pick our candidates for us.

Hawley is being slammed by many in the state for not showing at events and debates. Many people see him as a backstabber. It’s ugly in Jeff City today.

He should use the Clapper defense and say he took the picture of the young lady to protect her.

She doesn’t have much appeal in our area. McCaskill came here for a townhall to promote for Obamacare. Nearly everyone there was against it. She was condescending about our concerns but quite afraid of our reaction. She struck me as very elitist and that doesn’t play well in the Ozarks.

Is he gouging old people in his shady nursing homes? Oh, wait, that’s what Claire McCaskill does.

It is working with Trump, General Flynn, Michael Cohen and they are just going to keep using accusations to dirty up the Republicans.

You must be in Springfield - so am I. I was at that townhall “presentation” in the old theater downtown. She didn’t have one friend in the place; we were all disgusted with her and loud about it. I had a great time. :-)

PLEASE, no more McCaskill!

I took a lot of heat on here in 2012 for saying Todd Akin should withdraw from the race after his blunder. I knew McCaskill had it won if he didn’t.

We have many talented and capable candidates in Missouri...why can’t they get past the primary?

"What’s wrong with a Rhodes Scholar? It’s a high honor for educational achievement."

In Missouri, it's probably best not to let voters find out about that. ;-)

"It would be nice if republicans could learn to ‘keep it in their pants’... at least if they are married and in / or running for, high office."

But only conservative men in Missouri, of course. The rest can continue to collect those inky brands as they grow more jiggly real estate to collect them. A whole lot of down home people in MO have been brainwashed by California feminazis for generations. Irksome and revolting.

If we're going to clean up our fallen culture, the more equal animals should participate, too, instead of pointing fingers at the less equal animals.

And let's get in shape like the men we've been pointing fingers at. We look like one of those Juggalo gatherings. And make those civilian boys in uniforms start doing their jobs to shut down the drug rings.
