Publix CEO Todd Jones on Tuesday told the father of a Parkland, Florida student killed in the February 14 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that the Florida-based supermarket chain would not be making a donation to the schools student fund. Last week leftist revolutionary Parkland student gun control activist David Hogg demanded Publix give $1 million to the Stoneman Douglas Victims fund to atone for donating a reported $670,000 in recent years to Adam Putnam, a pro-NRA Florida Republican running for governor. Hogg led a die-in inside Publix stores last Friday to protest Publixs support for Putnam, who is currently Floridas Agriculture Commissioner.

Just before the start of the die-ins Friday afternoon Publix announce it was suspending political donations for a period of review. A Publix customer service representative told this writer Friday evening Publix had taken no decision at that point on Hoggs million dollar demand.

[[Perhaps the most cited reason for school shooters is bullying.
Hoggs response is to try and be a bully.]]
That’s a good point, and if conservative news stations had any guts at all- they would be exposing hogg as a bully instead of giving him free air time all the time-
This is a shake down.
Lock up the little punk.
[[Arrest the politicized little bastard and his fellow fellators for trespassing and NEVER allow their asses back in to ANY store]]
Good point- storesw ARE allowed to kick people out for causign disturbances- even permanently- and if they return they can be arrested for trespassing- fight fire with fire!
So Media Hogg is profiting from the tragedy at his high school and gets away with it? This punk has an agent, a book deal and in the near future a movie deal. Making money from the deaths of your classmates is ok as long as you are a left wing lunatic.
Well.....I didnt speak to Todd Jones but I have no doubt it was recorded....they actually tell you that when you call..
....the Publix employee taking the call ( this was at their Corporate headquarters)....listened very well to my long call and only responded minimally
I told them how long we had been shopping there.....41 years....and my husband could give them a pretty close estimate of how much money weve spent there....BUT now were through
I said a lot more.
We live in a very conservative county with a large military presence
We dont like punk kids trying to take away our 2nd Amendment
RICO
That’s a whole lot of protesters. NOT
By actually saying he wants a mill, he has moved to blackmail and should be prosecuted.
When jessie jackson et al blackmail businesses, they are careful not to actually ask for $, especially publicly. They just harass until a donation is made.
Initially they made no comment about Hogg’s demands. So people thought they had decided it would be business as usual. Then Publix folded like a cheap suit. But this statement is pretty clear. I hope they stick to it.
I think it’s fine that they have voluntarily decided to not donate any money to politicians. I don’t blame them. I’d like to see more companies do that.
Good gosh.
I cannot believe that people running an organization like Publix do not understand that caving and apologizing only invites more caving and apologizing.
Trump seems to understand this quite well...Thank goodness.
So young, so dumb.
Hahaha! BRILLIANT suggestion...I may do that myself. What if everyone made a $5 donation to the NRA in Hogg's name...
I could see Trump doing it.
Publix where shopping is a pleasure, unless there’s a die in at their stores... It didn’t happen here at my local Publix...
I think I read some article yesterday that Bloomberg just handed over a huge sum of money to Hogg and his group of little activists. They are riding a gravy train right now and will milk it for its duration.
Extortion on behalf of another is still extortion. U.S. v. Margiotta (1982) 668 Fed.2d 108:
https://openjurist.org/688/f2d/108
Mr. Hogg seems to be committing a RICO violation (18 U.S.C. 1961, et seq.) as well as extortion (18 U.S.C. 1951).
I wanna know where the COUNTER PROTESTERS are?
Run these little snot nosed bastards out of the store!
If the little son-of-a-bitch showed up near my part of the woods he would get more than an earful I can guarantee that.
If it’s down to the cash, it’s open extortion. Hogg may be stupid enough to call their bluff but his handlers aren’t. This “youth movement” is carefully choreographed by CNN and professional protesters, and they don’t want to lose their investment.
