Dem lawmaker: Trump must be held accountable for Puerto Rico deaths
The Hill ^ | 05/30/18 | Justin Wise

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) is demanding President Trump be held accountable after a new study concluded that the death toll in Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria is nearly 70 times higher than the official government estimate.

Gallego on Wednesday said in a statement that "these lives were lost in no small part due to the Trump administration's gross negligence."

"The Trump administration's failure to deliver timely and sufficient aid to United States citizens in Puerto Rico was an utterly careless decision with deadly consequences," Gallego said. "The Trump administration must be held accountable for their abject failure to protect and assist our fellow Americans."

Etc...

Never forget Whitefish contractors were restoring power and Democrats cancelled the contract.

Democrats own Puerto Rico.

BTW, when's the last time you heard anything from Luis Gutierrez since he announced he would not seek re-election?

This is part of an ongoing effort, to make Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico into Trump’s Katrina. That’s what is going on here.

So, instead of running the country, this lawmaker believes Donald should have been crawling over the wreckage, pulling people out of the mud, digging holes to place poles, giving out bandages, and operating at the local hospitals. Because then they would have yelled at him for not running the country.

Nonsense. Puerto Rico has received billions and has done nothing over the decades to prepare for the big hurricane which was sure to come eventually. They are an island in the middle of a hurricane corridor. They chose to spend their money of big salaries for the politicians and massive social welfare programs to buy votes. They reaped what they sowed.

The deaths are due to the collapse of the power grid in the wake of two hurricanes back to back. But PR has always been in the hurricane zone and always will be. They are a self-governing territory and are responsible for their own infrastructure.

There is blame enough to go around but Trump doesn’t share in it at all. He’s the guy who helped dig them out.

I heard a report about this on TV yesterday, must have been an MSM station. The gist of the study was that, it was not scientific and seemed to make no effort to be factual.

IIRC, they had some people going “door to door”, and very likely counted many deaths, multiple times. If they went to house A, and the people there said their aunt died. Then at house B, they reported that their neighbor died. House C reports that their co-worker died. House D reports that one of their association members died. House E reports that one of their customers died.... All reports were possibly about the same person.

But lack of truth would certainly never keep a dem from slamming Trump or from pushing their own narrative.

Democrats have run Puerto Rico for at least the last 50 years and have mired it in a nadir of corruption and incompetence that would not be out of place in something run by Hillary Clinton or the turd that formerly befouled the white hut. So naturally it's Trumps fault.

I can't figure out if these jackasses who say this stuff actually believe the excrement that flows out of their mouths and dribbles down their chins or that they merely think that the hate filled Democrat faithful will believe it.

Couldn’t they just go to the county office and read the death certificates? By law, they have to note the deceased and stamp it official. If you pretend ‘otherwise’, then it’s a 3rd world country.

The Puerto Rico power company was $9 billion in debt prior to the hurricane. The dems want FEMA to undo the mess created by decades of liberal mismanagement.

The governor of Puerto Rico had time to print up T-shirts while physical aid sat on the tarmac. Reminds me of stories I hear about Hollywood where production can be delayed because they need someone in the lighting union to replace a light bulb. Reason, if someone outside the union did that, the production could face heavy fines.

No. The lawmaker believes President Hillary should have been pulling strings to make sure her supporters on the island were getting all the aid they wanted, minus her cut. (cf. "Haiti")

I previous was a staffer for a US Congressman. He was on the Ways and Means Committee. He was in the process of investigating SSI ALJ Judges and their generous rates of awarding SSI and disability. The ALJ for PR had a 99.4% approval rate. The investigation went away at that point...hmmmmmmm.

Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.)(D-Mexico)

Fixed it.

Sr. Gallego has nothing to do with Arizona. He's not an American, his loyalty is to Mexico.

The problem with Puerto Rico is Puerto Ricans.

It is a different culture, different lifestyle, different priorities, with a different approach to life. No, they aren't John Alden and Priscilla with a tan. The differences are way, way deeper than that.

The videos I’ve seen show them putting up poles and stringing line. They should be biting the bullet and be burying the lines so the total loss of power doesn’t happen again. Try to find pictures of the wind farm in PR that was providing 20 percent of the islands power. It was wiped out. Seem the old coal fired plant was the reliable power on the island - evidently even hurricane winds won’t move a coal pile very far.

Ok - then we also lay the blame of all the deaths of Obamacare on the Democrats and Obama’s gross negligence.

Pure BS.

BTW, not a whisper about the fleecing of Haiti by Clinton who needs to be "necklaced".
