hmmm, It my understanding that the number of justices is not set in stone. That being the case, Trump should put forth his nomination now. It will take at least a year to get someone confirmed, so that justice would be ready to step in on the DAY any justice is no longer in office.
Roosevelt threatened to increase the supreme court for 9 to 15 and pack it with fellow socialist (communist). Obama had that opportunity during his first term.
Messing with the supreme court in that manner would create chaos in this country.
You mean a Supreme Court Justice in waiting? One who has been placed in a position to step in immediately, in case of death or retirement.
