Since when has the public ever gotten an award for ability to think clearly?

They may be onto something. Maybe we should submit the mysteries of particle physics and cosmology to polling as well. The answers are out there.

“Half of Americans in Gallup’s 2018 Values and Beliefs poll ...”

Well, I guess that settles it. The masses are never wrong about anything...

Yeah, and 50% of the population is, by definition, below average intelligence. So, I could see where they might think it’s nature, instead of environment.

I thought sexual abuse in childhood played a big role.

When “nature” means molestation in childhood.

I say (as if anyone cares) that the demarcation isn’t sharp.

For some people, nature takes over. But, there may be some lisping betas for whom some sort of sexual confusion was biologically almost certain.

Was it the Hawaiian/Indonesian/Pakistani Nature or the Frank Marshall Davis Nurture?

"... More Say 'Nature' Than 'Nurture' Explains Sexual Orientation...

.... Any chance some could be "Nature" ..... some could be "Nurture" ..... Some could be "Nature and Nurture" or do they all have to fit neatly into one single package?

More important than nature or nurture is free will. I have been attracted to quite a few women in my life, including after my marriage. Nature/nurture may say “go for it”, but free will says “I took a vow”. Free will always wins.

Most homosexuals were sexually molested as children.

They seek to normalize their behavior to achieve easier access to MOLEST YOUR CHILDREN!

On page 37, the other relevant result relates to men.

The 13th research question addressed, of homosexual men who have been molested, what percentage were molested before self-identification as homosexual men, and what percentage were molested after self-identification as homosexual? Of homosexual men who were molested, 68% were molested before self-identification as homosexual, and 32% were molested after self-identification as homosexual.

I have links to dozens of related studies.

It’s almost impossible to conduct such studies today because they’re “not allowed” for fear of their conclusions.

Note: Surveys are NOT a substitute for studies.

Traumatic childhood events are often suppressed.

Try finding trained professionals to conduct the interviews who don’t have a gay sympathy bias.

Men and women have a soul, and our souls are exactly identical. You take on the sexuality of the body in which you are born, assuming you are a reasonable person who plays the hand you are dealt.

All the rest is just hitting your head against the wall.

Just a telephonic poll, no science.

Even gay scientists Simon LeVay says he no longer thinks they'll ever find a gay gene or any science to support the idea anybody is born with an attraction to the same sex. And scientists say this because studies show us time and time again that environment plays the largest part in determining our sexuality.

I lean towards ‘born that way”

my reason?

Nobody would willingly ‘choose’ a lifestyle that gets nothing but disgust from the majority of all sexes. High school is hell for these people.

Just my 2 cents...

Harboring a sexual proclivity that produces no offspring makes it pretty much impossible to pass on those “gay genes.” Also, identical twins, who by definition have identical genetics, exhibit no statistically significant joint tendency toward homosexuality. They are often (almost always) both heterosexual, but sometimes one tends toward homosexuality and the other not, and rarely both lean toward homosexuality.

I’d say that’s case closed on the “born that way” nonsense.
