I can honestly say I would rather be thought of badly by many who are easily offended than liked by any of them. Therefore it is almost certain that I could never be an entertainer even if I’m something of a standup comic just as a matter of course.
Oh, make no mistake about it: “entertainers” do in fact offend folks and are quite okay with it, and many thrive on giving offense (as Richard Prior did before cussing lost its power to scandalize) as PART of their larger work.
(Relying mainly on offending is an Dice-y affair)
But an entertainer who is successful will manage to be offensive to people who matter the least to their success or else offend people who do matter in ways that aren’t critical to them so that they go out and make a big stink.
By this last I mean that they will give offense as part of the joke.
Rosanne herself, like so many others, has a history of being situationally offensive in her stand up comic act and situationally harmless on her TV show.
As a stand up comic she might have said the exact same thing, just snuck into a joke, and it would have been better received. She made the mistake of forgetting which mode she should be operating in.
Still, apologizing mightl only get you somewhere when the easily offended aren’t also opportunistically offended ... something I see as being a trait of the race baiting Left.
She’s screwed.
Conservatives and a few moderates for whom there still remains a Far Left that’s too far will forgive her but they aren’t running the entertainment industry.
I get that feeling all the time. We should start a club. probably be the only 2 that show up. But I might not, I have a thing. So, you know. Whatever.
Yeah, she always came off like a giant C word...never interested me. Still doesn’t. Kinda messed up for all the other people working on that show though. Wonder who gets paid?

Roseanne has a sexual discrimination case for her firing if she wakes up. Disney hired Keith Oberman despite his vulgar tweets. A week later, they fired Roseanne for her vulgar tweets. Regardless of politics, which is the real reason she was fired, sexual discrimination may be her golden goose.

Write apology letters, not emails and tweets.
If the board of directors of Netflix were smart, they’d jump all over obtaining the rights to Roseanne’s show. The profits from this could offset some of the money they are throwing at Obama and his show that is sure to bomb.
Because she is a reasonable swing voter, and we're gonna need as many of them as possible to win any election.

The reason Trump won is because he's NOT a Washington insider, he's realistic about many things hurting the country and he fights back. (Not like low energy Jeb, who would surely have lost the election)
