Remember when the unemployment rate numbers were touted as meaningless stats, but the true number was the labor force utilization rate? one needs to be careful with that number too. Labor force participation rates = Labor Force/Adult Population.
That number will decrease in part as the labor force gets smaller as baby boomers retire.

Labor Force = employed + unemployed

Adult Population= Adults over 16 not in prison, jails, mental hospitals etc.

I notice that the labor force utilization rate has remained more or less flat since 2016 after 8 years of steady decline.
