This is about the United States Constitution, people. And half the people in this country arent in it, Rep. Lou Lang, a Skokie Democrat who sponsored the resolution in the House, said. They arent included in the United States Constitution. Isnt that enough for you to realize the historic moment and step back from predispositions youve had and your heels dug in the ground on this issue and that issue and the other issue?

Activist Maryann Loncar is accusing Lang of years of harassment, intimidation and humiliation. He came very close to me and put his hand on my lower back to the point it was very uncomfortable. And as he did that he said does your husband know how lucky he is to have a woman like you? And I shot back with my South Side saying no, because no man knows how lucky they are to have women in their life.
She said when she refused to help him with legislation, He called my ex-husband and offered his service to bury me any way he could.

Lang is also the Vice Chairman of the Cook County Democratic Central Committee.
During the recent primary, Lang pointedly withdrew his endorsement from another legislator for similar allegations. Pot calling the kettle black.
So the ERA amendment passed in Illinois. They’re making a big deal of here saying that only leaves the amendment one vote from ratification. But, isn’t this beyond the expiry date? Isn’t this just symbolic?
