LGBTQ community calls GOP platform proposal more inclusive

The LGBTQ community said the change is more inclusive.

The change will be voted on next week at the party's annual convention. Republicans would remove the phrase "based on marriage between a man and a woman" when talking about strong families in the 2018 platform.

“The prior sentence that said that was the only way to have a strong family; people felt excluded by that,” said Kyle Hupfer, the Indiana GOP Party chairman.

The claim is that Pence inserted the language when he was governor. The GOP, who hated and capitulated on RFRA, are now trying to normalize gay marriage.

I hope that the LGBTQ community is reading too much into the change. But based on the comment by Hupfer I suspect that may not be the case.

Like it or not, gay marriage is already normalized.

Pedophiles

Damn the GOP. They are domestic enemies of America, too.

If the republicant’s can expand their sphere of influence and support without bending over backwards to do it, then I don’t see how it’s a bad thing. Why alienate a group, albeit small, when we desperate need to reduce the influence of the communist party?

Maybe we need to unnormalize it. Two guys sharing a bedroom and buggering each other is not a “family”.

Go for it and watch the GOP become an ever-shrinking party of angry old men, unable to compete on a national level.

Recall Donald Trump, the most gay-friendly Republican President ever, won not by running as a Republican but despite running as a Republican.

American society has decided that gay marriage is acceptable. That's just the way it is.

So all of those claims about Pence hating gays are false.

Did Americans accept homosexual marriage, or did we become resigned to it as it was forced on us through the courts?

Why not polygamy? Phedophila! Just say if it feels right to you then it’s normal. Hope the sarcasm tag is not needed.

HERE's an EXCERPT....It's about the word MARRIAGE and CHILDREN...

"But, Micah Clark from the American Family Association of Indiana said the Republican Party is already accepting.

Clark, who opposes gay marriage, said the current language from the party supports "loving adults" who raise children. His issue is getting rid of the word "marriage" from the section on strong families.

“Social research for decades has shown the importance of marriage over other living arrangements,” he said.

Paulsen said she disagrees with that assessment. “Marriage is not important to have a loving strong family to raise a child in,” she said.

Did Americans accept homosexual marriage, or did we become resigned to it as it was forced on us through the courts?

I think as cultural became increasingly gay-friendly, more and more Americans discovered they had gay friends, family members, neighbors, and co-workers as these people came out of the closet.

At the same time, many Americans appreciate Trump pushing back against the notion that "everything has to be gay all the time." People are also tired of this.

So, I guess it's a little of both. People will accept gay marriage but are also tired of gay acceptance being forced on them. And acceptance of gay marriage doesn't translate into acceptance of male cross-dressers in the girls' change rooms and forcing Christian bakers to cater to gay weddings.

Look at the trend of the referendums. 2012 NC passed its amendment by the same as CA did in 2000. So 2012 NC was were 2000 era Ca was on the issue, something no one would have predicted in 2000. The court definitely imposed it before too many states would have accepted it, but the trend wasn’t good.

I seriously doubt there is one state that would now pass a marriage amendment by the same or more than it originally did.

Hmmmm. So once again, a minor percentage(2-4%?) of the population calls the shots. SMDH! Guess economic extortion works. Well, along with a supporting hand from the lsm.

Yep. God forbid we should have a rational definition of marriage being between a a man and woman that even many gays supported - because that’s a fact.

So we should also be pedophile friendly too?

Oh that’s “wrong”? You just haven’t been properly enlightened yet (and it’s already started)

The irony is that while acceptance of gay marriage is increasing among whites to include even white conservatives, opposition remains strongest in minority communities that traditionally vote Democrat. Liberals don't like to talk about this.

Would gay marriage pass today in California? Most likely it would but as the state increasingly becomes majority latino and immigrant, the Left may find some pushback that they won't be able to blame on white Baptist Trump voters.

So we should also be pedophile friendly too?

When the majority of society accepts pedophilia as normal and natural, then the increasingly shrinking minority of those who do not will find it difficult to win elections if opposition to pedophilia is a plank of their party.

I don't see this happening.

"Go for it and watch the GOP become an ever-shrinking party of angry old men, unable to compete on a national level...That's just the way it is."

They said the same thing about abortion 30 years ago. You assume arguments cannot be won, and leadership is about following the largest number of people while shouting, "Me too!"

The surest way to lose a fight is to refuse to fight.
