The “data” as referenced in this article, are well-known, and well-established. What’s needed is not data, but people who have the intelligence to interpret the data. Also helpful would be the assemblage of people who know when they are misinterpreting the data. That we do not have. That we are not likely to have. The truth is that what we have are people who have an agenda who will be seeking data to support their agenda, and who will be unabashed when it comes to misinterpreting the data, and Miss stating the data, in order to support their agenda. This is what we have with global warming, and this is what we will have with school gun violence. And apparently the more money they have the less likely they are to actually interpret the data correctly.
......”Gun Violence Research”.....
Put bullets in chamber....choose a target....pull trigger.
Send check immediately please!
Conclusion first. Then research.
The "research" will be propaganda, lobbying, etc.
What a shame.
That 20 Mill **could** have gone to cancer research, building a better water filter for undeveloped areas of the world or even to set up basic health training in places the POUTS refers to as sh**hole countries.
But now, it will go to and grow liberal, anti-2A organizations hiding behind “Science”. Worse, these two will get a tax break on top of it....
“...I dont want to live in a country where children worry about the whether they will be shot at school. ...”
You can always move to another country, b*tch.
“Yet they have nothing to say about the 3,000+ children a day who are slaughtered in abortion mills.”
Didn’t NANCY solve that problem...
A baby does not have that ‘SPARK of Divinity’ as MS!3 guys do....
That will never be reported.
Nothing will result. As long as money is coming in, the problem will never be solved.
1 - Put God back in the classroom.
2 - Reconstitute personal counseling for mental health instead of drugging everyone.
3 - Quit hiding the delinquents from law enforcement.
The researchers are very, very good at determining what outcome is expected by the people with the money to give, the positions to award, the prizes to bestow or the fame to proclaim.
They therefore are very poor at sticking to the truth of the matter. Alleged rational, scientific and logical inquiry gives us such shaky conclusions about mankind due to the imperfectability of mankind.
In the early years of Free Republic, there was a book written with the highest reviews in NYT with articles by Gary Wills etc. It was awarded the Bancroft Prize for History by Columbia,
A young grad student named Clayton Cramer thought the conclusions and information in the acclaimed book “Arming America: The Origins of American Gun Culture” by Michael Bellesiles were wrong and being misused by the author. After digging a little deeper, he realized that virtually all the research was outright falsified to serve the political goal of the author’s work. The Bancroft Prize was eventually so much of an embarrassment it was rescinded and the author fired from Emory.
The research fits the desire of those promoting it.

Courtesy laugh, anyone?
What they will actually fund is anti-gun propaganda.

I wish I had this kind of cash to pIss away on feel-good-do-NOTHING-projects. However, what little extra I DO have goes to buying guns and ammo...and THAT makes me feel good! :)
See. Guns!
I have to wonder how people who managed to become billionaires can be so naïve.
After five years the $20 million will discover that the illegal drug business is the root cause of gun crime.
A study that answers how to prevent a deranged person from harming someone with a gun without violating rights would take all their billions.
When someone spends $20 million in politics it is usually to obtain the desired answer by avoiding the correct answer.
Just the terminology of the “cause” tells you pretty much what the providers of the funding want the results to be. Any savvy grant writer could cobble together a proposal and enrich themselves. Sadly, I have a conscience.
