Totally agree. Let the Democrats have a chance to vote NO! so we can stick up their ass in November.

“when the hanging actually begins, you don’t have to hang them ALL at the same time”

True.

But a dozen gallows lined up on the Capitol steps would look pretty cool, and intimidating.

So, 600ft of 7/8 inch hemp rope would probably do the job. Even at that it would take all day.

Folks could picnic on the Capitol Mall!

I keep thinking that a /s/ tag is not necessary on these things.

a mile of rope

1.5" manilla rope can be had for $1-2 per foot. That would be at most a $10,000 expense.

I can’t imagine President Trump even THOUGHT to not submit it to Congress.

I like listening to Hugh Hewitt from time to time. You can tell Hugh’s lips bleed a little every time he has to utter the words ‘President Trump’.

Oh, and his constant ‘fetching Mrs. Hewitt’ must be running to the well to get him a glass of water.

“So, 600ft of 7/8 inch hemp rope would probably do the job. Even at that it would take all day. Folks could picnic on the Capitol Mall!”

If you go with 3/8” you can get 600ft for under a hundred bucks. And like I said, if it breaks a time or two, and people have to be hung two or three times, the job will eventually get done.

But if it appeases the bleeding hearts I would find the stronger 7/8” rope for around $200 a reasonable compromise. I’m quite pragmatic.

And I’m pretty sure there are plenty of patriots who would pitch in so taxpayers don’t have to fork it over. In fact, if pieces of the rope were sold as memorabilia the process could actually turn a profit.

Plenty of ways to save money and cover the cost.

Screw him. The Congress has done nothing for 70 years and now this glory hound wants to have a say?

I actually agree with this. All of these "agreements" are really treaties and should be treated as such by the government.

Depends on what the final deal is. If it obligates the US with respect to another country in some important way, yes. We create thousands of obligations a year that don’t require a treaty, we just have to see what this meeting results in.

In the fwiw dept, the President can end any war he pleases without the Congress.

The Constitution refers to “treaties”. What constitutes a treaty vs. what constitutes a guy from our customs service agreeing to meet a Canadian official for coffee is not specified, and has been the subject of some legal decisions that have lately been disregarded by people like Obama and Corker.

Yup. Many of us have suggested that Donald’s EOs should be followed up by formal legislation becoming LAW in order to make it permanent, AND thwart dem criticism that Donald is governing by Executive Orders.

Remember the Paris Peace Accord of 1973? Remember the Democrats honoring the munitions support agreement for South Vietnam in a timely fashion, such as to prevent the NVA overrunning the country? A Treaty is a piece of paper of no consequence if no one stands behind the words of commitment.

South Korea should be so lucky as to have a Japanese nuclear force deterrent as part of any treaty agreement. Do not count on the U.S. Congress to do the right thing when the moment arises.
