My brother studied criminology, and has read multiple books on serial killers, and other high profile criminals. Of course, he’s appalled by them, but it doesn’t seem to get down on the inside of him, like it would me. But then, he’s got one of those brains that files away facts, factoids, and trivia. He remembers details about subjects forever. I’m too sensitive, and I’m not sorry that I am.

Yes, don’t be sorry, I’m the same way and neither am I sorry. It takes both kinds of people to make this world go round. I read those books once and shelve them, those events are so dark and evil it’s oppressive. Which makes it even more sad and evil that those men brought those events into the lives and victims and their families who may have been just like you and me. It just doesn’t bear thinking about, literally.
