SAN DIEGO Police confirmed there was a gunman in downtown San Diego Sunday morning.
The shooting was reported around 11:30 a.m. near First Avenue and C Street.
The shooting disrupted the Rock n Roll marathon and runners were rerouted.
San Diego Police Department say a woman was firing rounds and holding a gun to her mouth on the eighth floor of the Civic Center parking garage.
An officer was transported to a hospital after he accidentally shot himself, police confirm.

I'm sure it was another NRA member responsible for this senseless violence. [eyeroll]

Sad reminder of the Boston Marathon bombing. And a reminder, how difficult it is, to provide security for a big open air event.

I see that Tim has the requisite Man-bun.
Or Wienerdog-Bun if you’re into the whole precision thing.

If they were playing hip-hop or rap I could see her point.
Not sure if there’s a lot of rock’n roll that merits shooting up the place to express your distaste.

I was one of about 30,000 runners this morning. Start time was 6:15. Fortunately I finished at 9:28 and left the affected area (the finish line) shortly after the finish. I was two blocks in my hotel cleaning up, and finalizing flight reservations when the sirens started sounding for about 45 minutes. As is normal, after Boston and Las Vegas, Rock and Roll has heavy security provided by the local city and county. I read this in the airport.

That’s a mighty fine time. Was that the gun time or the chip time? Either way, that should be a BQ, no?

Chip time. They tell me its a BQ at my age of 63. Funny thing was I met, and ran alongside a 71 year old from Boston that is a Course Marshall (about mile 20) for the BM. Hes given up running in it a few years ago. Too many people he said. He encourage s me to come up and run it once, at least. He killed the run, sporting his Boston running unicorn gear in gold and blue.

Looks like BQ time for 2019 is 3:55 at my age. You may know that getting the time doesnt guarantee an entry. It is a required level, but they have drawings for those in times not automatic. My time should be an automatic.

There are no “accidental” shootings, only negligent ones.

That’s a bit of an exaggeration. Only the really scary looking ones are.
