I call bullshit.
It adds $100 to the price of a car and $5 to the price of a washing machine.
Builders have a gripe as do railroads. But the overall impact to the price of their finished product is still negligible.
If that were true the tariffs wouldn't be effective.
Manufacturers would keep buying foreign steel and pass that negligible cost along to the consumer.
The only thing accomplished would be more tax (tariff) revenue to the federal government.
