Homeowner Shoots & Kills 2 Burglars With His AK-47
Freedom Outpost | June 4, 2018 | Tim Brown

This is just one example of why AK-47s are needed by law-abiding citizens. Get that Senator Feinstein and the rest of you Communist gun confiscators posing as American representatives of the people?

A Memphis, Tennessee homeowner unleashed firepower from his AK-47 against two burglars who had broken into his home on Friday evening. Both burglars are now dead.

According to a local CBS affiliate, 28-year-old Azell Witherspoon and 17-year-old Demond Robinson were shot and killed after the homeowner, who asked not to be identified, and a friend arrived at his house to discover the two men rummaging through his house.

After returning home from the barber shop around 7pm, the homeowner said that he saw his door pried open and heard his dog barking.

"I see my house being ransacked and the dog was still going hysterical in the cage," the homeowner told WMC. He then went on to say that one of the two intruders noticed the homeowner and his friend and said, "Hey, they are here."

“He picked up his weapon, turned around and points them at me,” the homeowner told the Fox 13. “Two pistols.”

A Remington 870 12-gauge, loaded with OO or OOO buckshot, is the weapon of choice for home defense.

I had one set up for home defense for years, but I recently found something I like better: a Winchester 1897 with the "trench gun" length barrel. There are a few places that tune up the old Winchesters (and the Canadian/Norinco clones) for Cowboy Action shooters.

The '97 has a feature that appeals to me beyond the haze of nostalgia: you can keep a round chambered, but lower the (external) hammer to half-cock. Thus, it can sit in the closet for extended periods, without leaving the action cocked (or having to give your position away by chambering a shell). Just ease the hammer back and you're ready for action.

An added bonus: To cops and prosecutors, the 1897 looks like an "old man's gun" or antique, quite different from the pistol-gripped tactical stuff. Perception is reality, etc.

Any shotgun 27 inches or longer is legal. Get a birdshead grip and use rhe 18 Mossy pump in 20 or 12 gage.

I have the 410 version. Fun to shoot. Would not like to be on the receiving end.

The Marines went with a slightly modified version of the Benelli M4 Super 90 and called it the M1014. The Army is in the early stages of replacing theirs - they’ve already got an all new design that is modular and uses a straight pull bolt called the M26 Modular Accessory Shotgun System. It can be used as an underbarrel mount on an M4/M16 or as a stand-alone equipped with a stock kit. That and a to-be-determined semiauto shotgun are to replace all the Army’s pump guns.

Yup, my Saiga 12 (12 gauge) is always fun to shoot and a real crowd pleaser on range days. Really, really don’t want to be on the receiving end of the clouds of lead it throws. Or a chain of 20+ slugs from it.

I prefer a .357 with a 125 grain JHP. It is a fierce round and a proven man stopper. I keep a Glock 21 with 185 grain JHP on my night stand and beside it an old mossberg 500 pump with 4 rounds of low recoil 00 buck and the last round is a slug.

I wouldn’t want to use an AK in the situation as in the article unless it was my only choice, too many possible dangers with houses all around. In my case I live in the boonies so I keep a mosseberg 500 in my front closet with an old norinco SKS with a 30 round magazine ready to go. I like the AK round at 100 yards are less, good man stopper.

Yeah, it’s not cheap.

I got my Saiga 12 back when they were $400. They’re way more expensive now that they have been Obamabanned. Fortunately US production of them is in the works.

The basic function of the Remington model 870 is a fine nineteenth century design, and must be cycled with a certain gusto to get the best results.

I load my 12-gauge with successive rounds (last in, first out): No.4, No.4, 00, 00, 000, 000, slug.

If 2 rounds of number 4 shot fail to do the job ... it’s gonna get real messy real fast.
