Kind of inevitable that NAFTA wouldn't work in the long run, it was always kind of a mismatch ... US & Canada have similar cultures & income levels, but Mexico is the odd man out ...
It was always just a question of how much of our industry Mexico would be able to leech away before people said "enough of this self-inflicted rape"
Divide and conquer.
That’s how it should be. They are indeed different in many respects.
This also has the advantage of possibly getting one treaty through instead of nothing.
Oh Noes! This was all just a whhap upside the head to renegotiate NAFTA?
Hey Mexico, we can produce oil, make cars, grow peppers.
Yo Trudoeux, We Can grow lumber, produce Iron..
Spotted Owls are deadsy Pierre.
As it should have been done in the first place.
Oh and the EU and Asian trade is a TRAIN WRECK
I spent half mylife on the Canadian border and the other half in the Mexican border..
Love the people, but not always fond of the Governments.
GOOD - there is SO LITTLE IN COMMON with the two countries, and NAFTA was an attempt to erase the borders.
In other words...no mexico!!!! That’s been the plan. We can trade all day with Canada...no problemo.
We need separate agreements so that the cost of the wall is in the Mexican agreement.
Well they are 2 different nations...so why not?
I agree that they should be separate agreements. The two countries are wildly different and theres no way they can meet the same conditions.
This way it will be easier to get Mexico to pay for the wall.
Refreshing to have an adult who knows that the “One size fits all...” meme is a recipe for huge waste.....others were too lazy to do the work to customize things.
