Republicans press top FBI official on Strzok's role in federal probes
The Hill ^ | 06/05/18 | Olivia Beavers

A top FBI official who oversees the bureau's counterintelligence division faced questions from lawmakers on Capitol Hill on Tuesday about the role of FBI agent Peter Strzok in federal probes, The Hill has learned.

Lawmakers and congressional staff questioned Bill Priestap behind closed-doors for several hours as part of the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform committees' joint probe into the FBI's decision-making during the 2016 election.

Republicans have been eager to talk to Priestap about his involvement with the bureau's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election as well as its probe into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while serving as secretary of State – two high-profile investigations where he served in key leadership roles.

Priestap was also in supervisory position over Strzok, whose text messages criticizing President Trump and other political figures during the 2016 presidential race have become a flashpoint among conservatives critiquing federal law enforcement officials' actions.

"There was a number of times, I would say maybe four different times in that, where he would have the words, 'Peter Strzok' and 'expert' in the same sentence," Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), an ally of Trump who serves on the Judiciary Committee, told reporters.

"It has kind of confirmed what I've suspected or a long time, that Strzok was a central figure in all of this – the Clinton investigation and the Russia investigation," added Jordan, who is a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus.

Paul Sherry just reported

BREAKING: McCabe & Comey cleared Sally Yates to use Strzok's 302 summary of interview with Gen. Flynn to brief WH counsel & pressure Flynn's firing, because Flynn was no longer under active investigation. Trump could not have "obstructed" an investigation that was no longer open.

A “report” from the meeting says that Bill was pretty open and straight forward as to what went on at the FBI. IMHO he was most likely cooperating the whole time and that is why we have not heard to much about him.

Also if the dimoKKKRATS do not leak any of this then you know it was pretty damning for them.

Several hours of pertinent hard questions? That would only be easy for those being truthful, whistle blowers or those taking the 5th. It can seem like a lifetime for those attempting to conceal.

I find this part of the article concerning :

"Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.), however, said he felt that Priestap didn’t say anything that would indicate there was “political bias that motivated the Hillary Clinton email investigation.” Priestap “completely” backed up everything that Comey said, according to a source familiar with his testimony.”

If Grassley gives McCabe immunity, you can write off McCabe
going to jail.
Many of us have been wondering why McCabe hasn’t been indicted,
since a criminal referral was made almost 2 months ago.
The entire system is corrupt.

Few, if any, will ever be indicted. This whole thing will just a bump in the road for the Deep State.

Republicans "press." Democrats "indict."

In many respects it is Republican weakness that has led us to this point. For too long the Dems have gotten away with lying, being corrupt, engaging in voter fraud and other unfair political tactics because they are confident that Republicans will never do anything about it. They have nothing to really fear.

The Democrats should thank their lucky stars everyday to have the Republican Party as an “opponent”.

GOP = Gutless Old Party.

Yep.
The GOP prefers to use scandal as an election weapon, to motovate
we suckers to the polls instead of actually seeking justice.

Priestap didn’t say anything that would indicate there was “political bias that motivated the Hillary Clinton email investigation.”

Hillary's emails/etal are an entirely different topic. A more appropriate issue to "press" might be what can Priestap tell us about what "oconus lures" (with winky face emoji) meant to Strzok and Priestap back in July 2015? hmmm?

Did someone ask him about Comey's statement in regard to notification of the Gang of Eight...."...The head of counterintelligence (That would be Bill P even those Comey did not name him) told me not to"...

Either Comey was lying or they both are admitting to violating procedure.
