“It is presumed the FBI redacted the word “lures”, whereas the IG did not.”

This makes me wonder how much of the DOJ’s supposed lack of response to congressional oversight - withholding requested documents, heavy redactions, etc... - how much of it is really the DOJ’s fault?

This story makes it sound like the other agencies have a say in what the DOJ can release.

I forget where I read it but someone was suggesting that the State Department might also be pressuring the DOJ to keep certain elements of Spygate under wraps because it could compromise the counterintelligence agencies of the UK and other allies.

My point, or question really, is that while the deep state is obviously trying to cover up its corruption, there may also be legitimate concerns and complications to at least partly explain the DOJ’s apparent lack of transparency.

I know it’s hip in these parts to simply blame everything on sleepy Sessions:

Sessions is working for the deep state or he’s been ‘compromised’ and deep state Rosenstien is running the show. Trump can’t fire either of them because McConnell won’t allow it. So the narrative goes....

But for me that narrative just doesn’t add up - there’s got to be more going on than meets the eye.

These people would have to be gagged in the sixth inning of a baseball game because they'd be screaming that it's "Game Over, Man!!!" if their team was a run behind...   winking face

This story makes it sound like the other agencies have a say in what the DOJ can release. ----------- Most likely

I forget where I read it but someone was suggesting that the State Department might also be pressuring the DOJ to keep certain elements of Spygate under wraps because it could compromise the counterintelligence agencies of the UK and other allies. ------------ Well, it certainly could. I say expose them for what they are.

My point, or question really, is that while the deep state is obviously trying to cover up its corruption, there may also be legitimate concerns and complications to at least partly explain the DOJ’s apparent lack of transparency. ---------- I hear you.
