The problem has been Islam all along. It is time we all openly acknowledged that fact. During the mid 1800’s we burned down the town pirates were using in the Falkland Islands to prey on Clipper ships going round the cape heading for California. We hung some and the rest were dropped off in Argentina. The viceroy of Argentina offered those islands to US but we refused so the Brits took it over.
