There is a bigger reason too.

Much of the components for North Korea's missile and nuclear programs were actually produced by suppliers outside of North Korea.

Trump's team seems to have tracked down the supply chain network to it's sources and shut them down

Same with it's chemical weapons programs.

North Korea was a major supplier of nerve gas and other chemical weapons and a large part of it's foreign trade revenue was generated by the sale of these WMDs.

Turns out a major customer and partner in the North Korean proliferation schemes was none other than Syrian Dictator Bashir Assad.

Remember President Trump's multiple attacks on Syrian chemical weapons, one of which occurred while Trump was sitting for Dinner with the Chinese supreme leader (who controls Little Kim)?

In two attacks Trump shut down Syria's WMDs, sent a strong message to the Chinese regarding US policy on North Korea and shutdown one of the North Korea's life line revenue streams selling chemical weapons to Syria, a major customer.

Art of the deal?

Good info...and no wonder Assad is planning visits with KiM Un. Like Russia they all want a piece of the pie in N.Koreas development once things are settled. However Assad’s country is so trashed he’ll have his hands plenty full with that alone.

Awesome. And I bet the ZTE settlement was another chess move by Trump, knowing China stands to score big if/when the NK market opens up. More Art of the Deal with the Chinese president, who Trump knows is the puppet master of Kim.
