That answers my question of why the county would have a contract with its own LE department.
Actually, this depends on what neck-of-the-woods you are from. Our nearest city, a size of about 7,000 does for fact contract with the county for the sheriff’s department to do the cities police work.
Now this is a very low crime red-voting area and I do not think that city school has a security officer, but if the need did present itself, I’m certain the county would supply for that need.
