The gradual, incremental, persistent, unrelenting other-ing of guns and those who sell, shoot, broadcast and write about them continues apace. The latest victim: Brownells. Yes, the notoriously radical, fire-breathing Iowa-based retailer has had their YouTube page deleted by the dont-be-evil types who run YouTube, the Google-owned video platform.
Brownells just announced the move on their Facebook page and had this to say on Twitter (while both of those social media channels remain open to them):
Brownells YouTube channel has been terminated w/oout warning or notice. If youre opposed to the attacks on our communitys 1st & 2nd Amendment rights, please contact GOOGLE : 650-253-0000 OPTION 5 FOR YOUTUBE, MESSAGE YT & GOOGLE:
TTAG got this statement from Ryan Repp, Brownells director of content and communications:
We conducted a review of our YouTube account in March to ensure compliance with YouTubes new firearm content policy.
We had received no indications that our account was in violation until Saturday Morning, June 9, when we discovered the Brownells account had been terminated.
We will obviously appeal and wed appreciate the gun communitys support with providing feedback to Google/YouTube.
If youre one of Brownells tens of thousands of happy customers, you may want to let Google and YouTube know what you think.
The only question is
whos next? Somehow were thinking Dicks Sporting Goods is safe for now.
Sucks because Google Video was dead too. Wish YouTube’s creators didn’t sell to Google and let them get their tentacles on it.
Im glad I kicked Google to the curb as much as possible several months ago over the Damore incident.
Pootube...a bunch of seditious little snowflakes.
Knowing the iffy status of such videos with left-leaning tech providers, one might want to establish relationships with other providers. Surely it isn’t a situation like there is You Tube and nothing more.
They could go to liveleak. There are still a lot of videos up. Not long ago I found several on making a home made suppressor and how to convert an ak to full auto. I should check again to see if these videos are still up.
It’s a private firm that made it big with a popular product but still has a very distinct point of view.
If a firm with a different point of view can make it big or at least viable, it ought to try.
is there no replacement for youtube or google that will ,allow freedom of expression?

Larry Potterfield- MidwayUSA.
Hickock 45?
YouTube has a monopoly that needs to be dissolved or placed under an unbiased team of people from all walks of life. It is such a major disappointment. More proof leftism is a disease of the mind.
I would love it if another, honest and fair, online video hosting site that did what YouTube does but without the politics surfaced for all to use and get paid by. Just keep the smut out of it and let free speech reign.
According to a Leftist Judge, POTUS Trump can’t remove vile comments from people responding to him on his personal Twitter Account but YouTube can delete demonstrations of Legal Products on ther Site. Got it.
I pray Potterfield doesn’t give in to these insane demands.
I tried to find Midway of Facebook. It comes up with an ad for “Suckerburger - Coming Soon”. “Try our vegetarian Bull Sh!t burger.”
In fairness, President Trump doesn't control Twitter, whereas YouTube is controlled by, well...YouTube.
Time from Brownell’s to move off that Commie run site anyway. Move to Utah Gun Exchange website: https://videos.utahgunexchange.com/
“Move to Utah Gun Exchange website: https://videos.utahgunexchange.com/"
Nice. I just bookmarked it.
But Brownells is big enough to host their own videos on their own website if they want.
I recently discovered this site: https://gunstreamer.com/
I actually like it better than Full30... It is not as 'exclusive as Full30 despite Full 30's promise to open their platform... many of their newest channels are either obnoxious or just plain boring.
There are a few firearms channels at BitChute ; I've thought about signing up there and moving my youtube content there. (I've been videoing ammo tests for a few months and posting them to youtube)
It's not a monopoly.
or placed under an unbiased team of people from all walks of life.
"It has determined that your website has an unacceptable level of political bias, so we're taking control of it."
"We're from the government, and we're here to help."

I know nothing of this Brownells outfit.....however, they apparently know nothing about the 1st Amendment. As much as I hate Google AND YouTube, they own the site. They can delete anything they desire without repercussions from the Federal Government.
