The United States on Saturday refused to sign a G-7 declaration calling for a reduction of tariffs and other barriers to trade, as President Donald Trump continued to lash out at traditionally close allies for allegedly treating the U.S. unfairly.
Trump said he had instructed U.S. representative not to endorse the G-7 communique and his administration was considering imposing tariffs on automobiles.

If the fleet-average MPG does not meet the EPA numbers (Obama’s EPA, that is), the auto companies get REAMED with huge penalties - and guess who pays them?

More tariffs coming. I hope they are much higher than 25%.
Canada charges 270% on dairy from the US.
Cars should be at least 50%.
But at the press conference he described his relationship with the other leaders as a 10. I thought 10 was supposed to be good.

any one who does not believe that theses countries have not been using protectionist policy’s are crazy...The EU uses regulation and fines to make American products expensive in Europe. they use price supports to prop up the companies like air bus. there are lots of ways that you can have tariffs with out calling them tariffs and theses countries do it.

The automotive market’s answer to that was to make more trucks and less cars. Even cars like the HHR are counted as trucks.
