I believe Sessions is diligently, and methodically, putting the pieces into place to take these people down.
I am not sure if the FBI (in its present form) can survive this scandal.
The highest ranks of the FBI help lead an attempted coup d'etat against a duly elected President of the United States, and they may have even plotted to harm him and to harm members of his family.
He may have bigger problems than leaks and lies.
I really find it odd that the possibility of some leakers, even McCabe, going to jail makes Sessions’ actions OK. Everyone of us knows that there is more than enough evidence to convict Hillary, Obama, Rice, the Clinton Foundation, Comey, Soros, etc., etc., etc. Do you think any of the big felons will ever be indicted? Tell Mike Flynn and Carter Page how well this strategy of AG recusal and Mueller creation is a good thing.

Coup d'état , also known simply as a coup, a putsch, golpe de estado, or an overthrow, is a type of revolution, where the illegal and overt seizure of a state by the military or other elites within the state apparatus occurs.
A coup does not have to mean overt, kinetic activity with opposing set piece armies. The founders, as highly educated Englishmen, were well versed with Shakespeare political tragedies like Macbeth, Richard III, Julius Caesar, et al. Richard III, as regent to the two legitimate princes, simply had them disappeared in order to assume the throne. So, like the 1A doesn't mean just the printing press, and the 2A isn't restricted to muskets, a coup can involve subtleties such as espionage, subterfuge and legal maneuvering.
Once you accept the Hussein treachery was an attempt to overthrow the duly elected and legally constituted government of the USA, then you should agree that it was a highly leveraged revolutionary act of war. That means treason for all parties involved, not only those directly levying, but others providing subsequent aid and comfort.
Which, for those paying attention, would include Sessions if he is truly trying to oppose Trump's attempts at fully prosecuting the war effort against the deep state enemy.
