Man Claims He Was Asked to Leave Restaurant for Wearing Large Cross

A restaurant based in Indianapolis, Indiana, allegedly asked one of its customers to leave for wearing a necklace containing a large cross.

Jerry Bond, who patronized Kilroy’s Bar N’ Grill with his minister and a few friends, claims a bouncer asked him to remove his cross necklace or leave the restaurant.

“The bouncer comes back over, really bad attitude, [and says] ‘We’re going to ask you to either tuck your necklace, remove it or you have to leave,” Bond told WRAL. “I’m not going to tuck my cross in because of my beliefs. I believe in wearing this cross and what it represents.”

The restaurant reportedly has a sign posted outside the entrance that bans patrons from wearing large chains hanging outside their shirts.

I’m guessing the chain policy is to keep a certain class of urban dwellers away.................

I believe the word ‘restaurant’ throughout this story is used to completely mislead people about the nature of this establishment.

I don’t see a problem here....those Christian ‘gangs’ are problem folks, and you need to ensure firm control over their behavior. //sarcasm off

If they enforce their policy on chains fairly, and for all guests, regardless of religion, tatoos, smelly odor, then I’m ok with this.
////////////////////////////////////////////////

I’m okay with an owner of private property enforcing any rule he wants, any time he wants to or doesn’t want to. Don’t like it, go elsewhere. I will say, relative to this thread, that I’m not okay with misleading headlines.

I think others on this thread are correct, and they’re attempting to diminish the observed presence of a different sort of ‘gang’. But I think it’s going to cause them a problem.

"Maybe liberals will demand everyone be forced to wear a cross on their lapel- so they can be identified."

Numbers would be easier to keep up with.

Most likely an anti-Gang wear policy, rather than anti-Christian.

Sounds like it might have a bunch of folks who wear chains and get into fights. Takes time to pull it from your shirt

He wasn’t asked to leave because of his cross.

Well certainly Christians who personally support gangs are upset. Christians who recognize the problem the gangbangers cause and who have enough integrity to concede that the owners of the property are not in a position to make distinctions between a cross worn to honor Christ and a cross worn to show fealty to a gang will respectfully put their jewelry under their clothes while there.

The person who made the fuss is a glory hound calling attention to himself rather than honoring God. His supporters are either gullible, or are dishonestly attempting to create a false flag even though there is actual discrimination against Christians which could better be addressed instead of this fake issue.
