The Horowitz report is due now, and should be released to the public about the time Rush’s show ends. Right in time for Hannity.
I’m with Rush. Not political???! I think it’s not going to be anything that gets anyone sent to jail. The swamp covers its own.
Horowitz is far from a swamp dweller. He led his fellow AGs in suing the Obama regime so that AGs could do their job and investigate them. He began this investigation at the request of Grassley’s committee before Trump even took office.
Well, he just gave Hillary a pass.
The report says that they based that pass on the DOJ’s 2008 decision not to prosecute Bush’s AG Alberto Gonzales, when he was charged with mishandling secret papers.
Sorry but I’m not budging off this being a whitewash. The swamp covers its own.
I think I’ll wait until I’ve had a chance to look it over and to see what others find in it before deciding.
If simply mishandling secret papers is always a criminal act then Alberto Gonzales would have been prosecuted. He wasn’t. The OIG report says that they deferred to DOJ precedence rather than substituting their own judgement on the matter. Sloppiness and laxity weren’t sufficient in Gonzales so they won’t use it to recommend prosecution here.
