Homeschooling Expands As Parents Seethe Over Liberal Social Engineering And Violence
SHTF Plan ^ | 6-11-2018 | Mac Slavp

Homeschooling rates are skyrocketing as parents are continually getting more and more upset at the leftist social engineering taking place in public schools. The indoctrination is getting so bad, that some parents are even concerned about liberal violence against those who reject the brainwashing.

According to The Washington Times, the recent school shooting at Parkland, Florida, was the last straw for scores of parents. The paper noted that “the phones started ringing at the Texas Home School Coalition, and they haven’t stopped yet.”

“When the Parkland shooting happened, our phone calls and emails exploded,” said coalition president Tim Lambert. “In the last couple of months, our numbers have doubled. We’re dealing with probably between 1,200 and 1,400 calls and emails per month, and prior to that it was 600 to 700.” But according to Natural News, it isn’t just the rampant violence worrying some parents. That’s just the tip of the collectivist agenda iceberg.

Christopher Chin, head of Homeschool Louisiana, told The Times that parents are fed up with “the violence, the bullying, the unsafe environments.” Many parents are also disturbed by the social engineering, which amounts to brainwashing and indoctrination that goes on in a public school. For example, a Minnesota public school is forcing Kindergarten students to study ‘white privilege’.

The left-wing curriculum and common core are also driving parents to remove their children from public schools. Brian D. Ray, who heads up the National Home Education Research Institute, in Salem, Oregon, who’s conducted homeschooling research for 33 years, told The Times that concern over school curriculum has reached the top of the charts for most parents. Ray said the top three reasons that parents choose homeschooling are a desire to provide religious instruction or different values than those offered in public schools; dissatisfaction with the academic

Home schooling has some weaknesses - especially, from a Christian perspective, regarding tbe Great Commission

I would disagree. The "Great Commission" is NOT about making converts, but making disciples. Home schooling is the perfect vehicle for making disciples. Public schooling is disastrous for discipleship.

I’m so glad we started homeschooling. My kids are healthy, happy, well-adjusted, and learning more real-world information instead of leftist indoctrination.

Very good point.

The government school has a mission as well. It is to make disciples of atheist state worship.

“As much as they could be and could have been? ( Just wondering.)”

You know I find it astonishing that some people who choose home-schooling actually stoop to insulting someone who chooses public school. Our kids are often considered stupid and uneducated.

We have been accused of child abuse, not loving the kids, wanting them out of the house,an not caring to have them around so use the schools as babysitters.

I have NEVER insulted anyone who chooses home schooling, and never will, it’s a choice.

I have friends who used private secular schools, religious schools, and even home schooling and it never occurred to me to insult them——and they never insulted me for my choice.

I don’t understand the anger around here.

I'm certainly not angry. I'm just trying to impart some of the wisdom I have seen over decades of observing the culture disintegrate. If you are willing to send your child to a place that will tell them God is a fairy tale, and men can be women, and babies are blobs of tissues, then why do we wonder why children are so messed up today?

The schools have them 8 hrs a day and you have them maybe 2-4 before sleep and in between TV shows that reinforce the school's indoctrination. If I tell a person that is in a same sex relationship that God doesn't approve, I get the same reaction, that I hate them. No, I'm telling them because I love them. It's the sin I find abhorrent.

I've seen many of my friends allow their children to finish in public school, and they end up not being what their parents envisioned for their lives. If 10 years ago sodomy was something done in secret and a shameful act, you child today would be all for it and disrespect their parents about their opinions. The next generation is in school right now. Any survey questions they get asked is plain bizarre with what they believe.

I was watching a surveyor ask questions about the school shooter in Fla. a few weeks ago. The questioner asked every way he could think of to see if they would say the guy was evil or did something evil. NONE of them could bring themselves to make a character decision about the guy. Every answer had something to do with guns. He even asked about the responsibility of the Sheriff not pursuing mental evaluation after several recommendations that he do so. They found NO responsibility for anyone but the NRA and the guns.

This is why they fornicate together,...because everyone else does. It's why killing the baby is OK that comes from the fornication. It's why sodomy is OK,... because everyone tells them it is. They have no moral compass and lack common sense.

Who wins the spelling and geography bee's every year? It's very good odds a home schooler won. Most kids today cheat off their cell phone or other methods to pass tests and never read a book. Ask a 12th grader how many states their are? Who fought in the Revolutionary War and who won? What is protected in the 1st Amendment? ( they may ask, amendment to what?)What years were WWII fought? Who fought in that war? Ask them to add 3 double digit numbers in their head without paper and pencil.

For me, it's frightening. There are even kids in the 7-8 grade that still print and can't read cursive.

What I've found is the vast majority of these parents know their child is falling behind, but do nothing because they really don't care enough to change. I know one 13 yo girl that has gone to her grandparents right now because she is failing in school and her parents didn't want to change their lives, so they sent her to people that won't make her do anything. She will be pregnant by 15-16, out of school and on food stamps before you can blink.

No. I'm not angry, I'm frightened for America's future. There isn't enough tax money in the world to fix the problems we already have. The kids end up with suicide because that can't do simple work. Even the ones that go to college usually get a job with mom and dad's help and get on the job training so they can do something useful. Then, they want $100k to start and have never worked anywhere but flipping burgers.

My wife quit a good job and we spent about 2500-3k a year extra for home school. That's after paying for public school taxes. We believe it was worth it. That's why I tell anyone willing to listen. It's not about hate or anger or anything like that. The vast majority of home schoolers are of good character, above average intelligence, never been on drugs, pregnant without marriage, not in trouble with the law. I'm sure it's not 100% anymore than every public school student is the opposite. But you have to ask yourself where Antifa and BLM comes from? Ask how someone in college spits in an Israeli flag and cheers the ISIS flag? Where do these ideas come from?

I know where.
