If you are assisting at Mass more than once a week you more than likely going to confession on a regular basis which besides the obvious spiritual benefit to your soul is wonderful for your mental and emotional health too.

Funny, my non-Catholic friends tell me "It isn't necessary to tell your sins to a priest.." yada yada yada.
Too bad! They have never experienced the power of the confessional. It can be sometimes felt as a humbling task, true, and it is not always the easiest thing to do, but it really does work amazing wonders for the mind and the soul, doesn't it?
