It was a remarkable scene to watch unfold. On Tuesday afternoon, Canadas Liberal cabinet rose to vote on a Conservative motion calling on the government to get tough on Iran.
There was every reason to believe theyd vote against it. Conservative Senators had previously brought forward similar legislation and it was defeated last month by Justin Trudeau-appointed Senators. So everyone figured they knew how Tuesdays vote would go down: Conservatives in favour, Liberals mostly against.
Even Speaker Geoff Regan must have thought this. Because after hed finished tallying the yeas from the Conservative side he then called to register the nay votes, as if he assumed the yeas were done. Then there were rumblings. Regan realized that maybe there were a few more yeas kicking around on other benches and reopened the count.

This is what happens when adults are in charge.
Next to Trump lefty women couldn’t ignore how gorgeous Trudeau was. The were saying Trump was no hunk without saying It’s as if being the leader of the free world means nothing without sex appeal.
I think (and I fervently hope) that Turd-Owe’s recent antics have eroded his support within his own party. Maybe, just maybe, the ground could be laid for getting rid of him the same way the party (while under his father), got rid of Joe Clark back in 1979, via a vote of no confidence.
The symmetry in that would be both perfect, and delicious.
Can’t help but wonder if the public comments and gestures at the G-7 meeting had something to do with the Korea negotiations.
Trying to take attention away from his recent snowflake hissy fit and malfeasance....
