I went back out ONE MORE TIME and got lucky. There were a few "zips" across the sky but not nearly as impressive as the storm a week or so ago. I like this one because the lightning was squiggly. We've been getting a lot of that this year for some reason.

This storm is far enough away I wasn't nervous about walking out away from the house to get clear of the trees. If I'd had to stay by the house, I wouldn't have been able to see it.

Now to hope the big batch closing in doesn't fizzle out before it gets here. :-)
