The Ohio Attorney General's office said that enough fentanyl to kill more than 4 million people was seized in a Clark County bust Monday night. The Miami Valley Bulk Smuggling Task Force seized about 20 pounds of fentanyl as part of an ongoing investigation, and four people were arrested. A large amount of marijuana and more than $100,000 in cash were also seized. Aguilar Reyes-Espinosa of New Carlisle, Omar Cantu-Garcia of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, David Cantu-Garcia of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and Pedro Medina of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, are currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on drug trafficking charges. "This is another example of the ongoing battle against drug cartels bringing in illegal drugs into our communities,"

The people you’re depending to change “uncontrolled” to “controlled” are the very people who started this epidemic in the first place.

Step back, read up on some history of this stuff. It’s actually a part of a pattern of drugs being used in medicine, then abused (always by medical professionals first), then made illegal, then a substitute is created.

And the the whole cycle starts again with the substitute. Fentanyl is the 4th cycle in a chain that started with once-legal heroin.

For no other reason than this, we need a wall. These drugs are killing our people and rotting out our society.

China had this same problem in the 19th Century. They don’t have this problem today. See if you can guess how they solved it. (Hint; do a search for “what is the penalty for drug smuggling in China?”)

They should be shot on the spot.

It was the Brits, too. They fought the Opium Wars from 1839-1842 and 1856-1860 to force China to accept importation of British Opium. Which helped rot out Chinese society and hasten the decline of the Chinese state.

The Chicoms under Mao were horribly repressive and ruthless to the Chinese people. But the Chinese no longer have a significant drug problem.

And don’t think the Chinese have ever forgotten the Opium Wars, they still have revenge on their minds.

12 million people in Ohio. Enough Fentanyl to kill one third of them.

At least we FINALLY figured why Kasich was elected.

Yes, Fentanyl is a valuable medicine. And Plutonium is also a valuable element, used by the French in nuclear reactors to create electricity. But if you touch it you will die.

I’m not in favor of a bunch of illegals bringing Plutonium into the country. Sure, it’s harder to come by than 20 pounds of Fentanyl, so trafficking in Plutonium isn’t really a problem. Plutonium isn’t killing many Americans. But Fentanyl is.

No, they haven’t forgotten the Opium Wars. That’s why the death penalty for drug smuggling is still rigorously enforced; they don’t ever want to go back. And I’m sure the thought that the Gweilos tried to turn them all into burned out junkies still rubs them the wrong way.

Here let me demonstrate how ridiculous this propaganda.

In this story a 20 lbs. of fentanyl is said to be able to kill 4 million poeple. So that’s 200k people per pound.

The DEA has an annual manufacturing quota of fentanyl of just over 2100 kg, or about 950 lbs. Per year.

If the assertion that 20lbs can kill 4 million is accurate, the DEA is authorizing the production of an amount of fentanyl that would kill 190,000,000 people, or ~60% of the US population... every single year. Obviously this is not a reflection of anything happening in the real world.

Actual number of people dead by fentanyl at the height of this epidemic, about 35,000 in the last year for which data exists.

In other words, the thing that has you scared silly is a claim that is about 5400 times the actual real-world situation.

This is propaganda. That they use “how many people it can kill” as a metric is a screaming red flag of propaganda. They couldn’t have made it clearer if they printed “PROPAGANDA RAG” on their banner.

20 pounds of pure fentanyl wasn’t proscribed, it is from a labs—probably from a cartel lab south of the border. But maybe not. Breaking bad might have chosen the wrong drug. Locally a white chick was caught with a large amount of fentanyl, like pounds. I wonder what they do with it—try to stretch heroin or what? Is it so cheap that the cartel is trusting it to flakes that speed on the interstate or what?

Nobody saying there isn’t a problem.

What I am saying is that solutions to the problem aren’t down a propaganda-paved path filled with lies and deceptions and distortions.

What are they doing with it? Stretching their heroin or making fake prescription pills or what? I wonder if the lab is in the US or not.

Not sure exactly how they use it - even the most hardcore risk takers I know wouldn’t get within a mile of something like that; as close as I keep my ear to the undergrond, on this I wouldn’t even know who to ask.

One thing is quite clear though - the illegal trafficking exists to fulfill the demand created by the pharmaceutical industry.

I have a L4 L5 fusion with hardware and cage. Fentanyl was ineffective for me. After two upward dose increases, I told my doc it wasn’t cutting it and I was done fooling with it. I’m currently taking oxycodone/acetaminaphen and morphine sulphate. Sometimes work can be a little rough to get through, but on the up side my wife can scrap me for the titanium when I croak.

These guys are probably cartel—but there was a white chick who was pulled over on interstate 81 with lbs of this stuff if I recall. What the heck was she doing with that kind of weight?

One of the reasons they use it is that is after you use it so much you have to have use stuff laced with fentanyl, so you theoretically have to go back to them. But it kills so many first timers before they get used to it I guess.

I often wonder who was behind the funding of the Narcan anti-overdose drug. The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if the the cartel would want to lose repeat business. That Narcan is administered multiple times by EMS to the same people.

Yup—as soon as the cartel realized what was going on with pills in the US poppy fields expanded exponentially. The more fentanyl they can make in labs, the less their exposure the poppy fields can be—less harvesters, much more hidden. But he same logic tells me there would be hidden US labs too, right?

LOL. Not nearly that many.

Typical dose of fentanyl in an adult is 75 to 100 MICRO GRAMS

10 kg ( about what they seized ) is 10,000,000,000 micrograms

Thats about 1,000,000 standard doses.
