If he weren't given some legitimacy, there'd be no way to negotiate away from the brink of war. Does anyone seriously want that neighborhood reduced to chaos?
It seems to me that President Trump inherited a near-impossible situation. The only way to talk to NK was to acknowledge that the guy with his nukes has legitimacy..
