Survivors of the mass shootings at Pulse nightclub and Parkland are planning to pressure Walt Disney Co. to withdraw its support of self-described NRA sellout Adam Putnam by holding a die-in at a Disney property sometime this month.
National Die-In, a group co-founded by Parkland survivors, is in the early stages of organizing the demonstration where protesters lie in a corpse-like pose to emphasize the effect of shooting massacres. The protest would be at a Disney headquarters or Orlando theme park.
We want to keep doing these protests to show people we arent backing down, Nurah Abdulhaqq, a Georgia teen whose cousin was killed by a gunman in 2016 and co-founder of the group, said Wednesday in an interview with the Orlando Sentinel.
National Die-In alluded to its plans on Twitter by posting Can you guess where were going next? with a D in the style of the Disney logo. David Hogg, the Parkland student who has risen to national prominence, responded with a tweet that said, its D for die in.
Disney has donated $789,000 to Putnams political committee, Florida Grown, since 2015; including $300,000 since Feb. 14, when a gunman killed 17 students and faculty at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, setting off a firestorm of protests calling for greater gun control measures.
Putnam, the states agriculture commissioner, is a Republican running for governor this year.
A Disney spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment.
Student activists have targeted the National Rifle Association for blocking bills to limit magazine capacities and ban assault-style weapons. That has extended to companies that support politicians who back the NRA.
Last month, die-in protests at Publix stores throughout the state led the Lakeland-based grocery chain to suspend all political donations. Publix had given $670,000 to Putnams committee.

Great, the next time a bunch of leftist idiots stage a die-in, there needs to be an immediate burial.
I REALLY hope this backfires on these little pukes. I WISH we could get Soros money out of our politics, but I do suspect these antics only push more people to our side of the political aisle.
Disney corporation. or Disney employees?
Publix was like “lol, whatever fags” and ignored them, and no matter how much they impotently rage on Twitter, they have no power to hurt Publix financially, not short-term nor especially long-term.
I really think we need to counter protest with gun supporting BBQs - maybe with food trucks just pulling up with NRA supporters and gun literature and the bill of rights.
The Parkland shooter used 10-round magazines. The Santa Fe shooter used a shotgun and a revolver. In other words, their precious gun control legislation wouldn't have done squat to help in those two shootings. What did help in Santa Fe was a quick response by law enforcement.
I guess “Parkland Survivor” is now the IN group for Social Justice——replacing “Poor Single Mother”.
The faggots and imbeciles that are allied with Pulse and Parkland against Disney are about to get bitch slapped.
Disney IS FAGGOTS AND IMBECILES.
They don’t like competition.
Publix is a stand up company.
Debt free and a pleasure to shop at (no pun) and work with their employees.
They’re the “Chick-Fil-A” of Supermarkets IMHO.
Disney has lawyers.
Have them sue the pants off of whoever is funding and organizing the extortion plots.
Publix is opening a store 18 miles from me ‘soon’. I expect to make the drive on day one.
This is why the Democrats are gonna get their butts handed to them in November. The American people are getting sick of the crazy kook element within that party!
They need to protest ISALM if they want to address the real issue. Maybe they should ban MUSLIMS? The Pulse killer was a MUSLIM.
MUSLIMS didn’t need guns to kill 3000 Americans on 9-11-2001.
Wow not only was the Pulse shooter, Omar Mateen, a terrorist and a ISIS supporter but an NRA member? How despicable.
Please do, you won’t regret it.
De Santis is the guy we want for FL Governor anyway.
Putnam is a Bush League Republican.
I want the most in-yer-face, Constitutional patriot.
Drum roll! How quick will mouse security remove them? They support red shirt day.
