It's more who I don't want as Speaker, and Ryan and Pelosi are at the top of the list.
Which doesn't change the fact that there aren't 218 votes to remove Ryan or elect Jordan.
If the republicans tarred and feathered Ryan, then threw him in the Anacostia river, they’d be arrested for water pollution by Washington police.
Should’ve been done long ago, right after announcing his retirement! This man has worked against the President’s agenda and what the people voted for from day one! Vacate the chair immediately and elect Jordan or Meadows!
What was his role there and more importantly WHY was he there? It clearly implies tat he is/was in collusion with the Clinton's camp - and that alone should cost him his career fro life!
F I N A L L Y !
Talk is cheap, deeds are dear! So they need to do it, or shut up. I, for one, am fed up with the talk, talk talk, do nothing GOP.
“Dream on. There arent 218 votes to remove Ryan. And even if there were, there arent 218 votes to elect Jordan.”
Agreed.
But I’d like to see the House hold a vote on vacating Ryan’s position. We’d at least get a fair idea where our GOP reps stand on the issue.
Note that Steve King is not touting a fire-breathing conservative for Speaker, which would not be possible.
He’s indicating that the next Speaker will have to back off pushing amnesty. Because of how a Speaker is elected, the Speaker is going to be a compromise moderate. Conservatives need to have ‘no amnesty’ as their number one condition for supporting the next Speaker.
Body and Bones and chuck him out the door
Not going to happen. A motion to vacate would be followed by a motion to table, and the motion to vacate would never be seen again.
WWE style?
Agreed!
“Do it. Smear his nose in it. How dare he retire in the future and leave the party hanging. Boo..Boo. get off the stage.”
I think that there needs to be a Freedom Caucus Revolt! Matt Gaetz and several others have had the balls to openly call for Ryan to leave, but there needs to be more of them making a lot of noise so that the voters notice. I also believe that the time is not far off when President Trump takes off the gloves and starts pointing out who in the GOPE is not on his side.
Ryan isn’t just a swamp rat; he drives a fully loaded swamp buggy full of swamp rats who work hard to undermine this President.
He should be dragged out in that buggy along with his feckless dirt bag cohorts.
When the tape came out with the Bush kid and Trump talking locker room smack; Ryan waited just 1.23 seconds before coming out to condemn Trump. Ryan and his leftist/GOPe butt buddies just knew this was going to end Trump’s chances. Just knew it and did their level best look of disappointment and condemnation for such language. Language they all use by the way.
Surprise! The American people saw right through this 14 yo (or however old) tape and what the left/GOPe/never Trumpers were up to. It backfired big time. Score one for the American People.
Ryan is now and has always been the enemy of conservatism.
If Romney had won in 2012, he would have been VP, a big boost to his political career. Scary prospect. Now he is determined to bring as much chaos upon the US in his last months as he can.
His behavior has been clownish. I recall his meltdown, like the ultimate nerd, at some words Trump used years earlier.
Once again, a lot of jabbering. A lot of talking. Talk. Talk. Talk.
“Exclusive: Republican Members Considering Forcibly Removing Paul Ryan From Speakership”
yeah, how many times have we heard that before? they keep teasing us and getting our hopes up, but nothing every actually happens ...
“there arent 218 votes to elect Jordan. Who would you like to have as Speaker of the House”
Steve Scalise. Maybe the standing ovation he received when he returned from recovering from attempted assassination does not reflect the true sentiments of others in the House. However, I’d say he should have fairly broad support. He’s well liked. He’s also fairly conservative, and does not appear to be a swamp creature. Electing him would be a great stick in the eye for the would-be assassin, and send a message to similar aspiring assassins. I think Scalise would be a man who attends to the people’s business... which also happens to be President Trump’s business.
Ooh! Considering.
