* Conte, a father-of-two, was charged with criminal mischief and harassment
* Residents have stuck up for Conte and one neighbor said the kids were trying to throw a dead snake into his wife's car
A Long Island man was arrested for shoving a 12-year-old boy to the ground after he caught the child recording his wife on a cellphone.
Anderson then calls the woman a 'low life' seconds before a man charges at him shoving the boy to the ground. The man curses and smashes Anderson's cellphone on the ground as the boy yells for help.
Anderson's father, Christian, called Conte a 'coward' but residents in the area are sticking up for him.
According to neighbor Michael Shain, who lives across the street from where the incident happened, the kids were allegedly trying to throw a dead snake into the woman's car with her two kids inside.
'There's video of these kids running around with their bikes, stopping cars, getting in front of cars where they almost basically force you to hit them,' he said. 'These kid are not innocent by any means. They started it, and unfortunately, the father went to protect his wife and two small kids.'
Christian, however, says there is never a reason for an adult to put their hands on a child.
'Even if they throw a rock at the car, it doesn't justify beating up a child. It just doesn't,' he said.

Didn’t the kid’s father bring up rock throwing? This kids behavior, along with the bikes daring cars to hit them can escalate as the kid grows older.

Even though the act of throwing the dead snake is worthy of an ass kicking, snakes can and will bite you after they die, I agree with you wardaddy that the grown man was out of line putting his hands on the 12 year old boy.
I’m a small guy....5’7” and a buck fifty....not much bigger than the boy. I would’ve handled it differently. I would’ve went to the father and gave him the chance to either beat the boy’s ass....or get his ass beat in front of his kid.
Then I would’ve found one of the neighborhood girls around the brats age that needed an extra 20 bucks...and set up a good ole public girl on boy humiliating ass beating...which would be posted on youtube for all to see.
If the boy had been closer to 16 or 17...I could understand putting hands on him. But 12 years old is too young for a grown man to lay hands on.
Not to mention the man will now face charges and possibly jail time. And putting hands on the boy like this more than likely only served to escalate the conflict and ensure there will be more conflict in the future.
Long time ago during my days in the USN...had an older guy that was a chess buddy....and CIA contractor who kinda was a mentor to me. He especially helped me to learn to control my Scot/Irish/Cherokee wolf clan temper which did not mesh well with the hell I caught for looking no older than 12 when I was 18...and being named Kermit.
I was having a conflict with a fellow sailor...and planning on solving said conflict with an ass beating.
The spook took that opportunity to teach me the lesson that beating a man physically only solves a conflict temporarily....you will more than likely have to beat him again.
Beat a man physically and mentally....and he stays beat.

For what it's worth, this kid deserved to get his ass knocked to the ground and if it were one of my boys, I'd thanking the man who did it while re-evaluating my own parenting skills for raising such a brat.
The kid's dad looks like a real piece of work as well.

There was a group of boys in our neighborhood who would see how close they could get to you on bicycles without actually hitting you. They tried that on me - I grabbed a kid by the arm and instinctively knocked him off his seat as the kid tried to buzz me as I was exiting my truck. He was 6-8 inches from me going quite fast....
This brat instantly, on queue screamed bloody murder so the entire town could hear it. Shortly afterwards the sheriff shows up looking for an evil man knocking kids about. A neighbor who had been on the receiving end of this abuse set the record straight for the sheriff. When the offending kids father heard about it the little brat had hell to pay.
The charges against the father are nothing less than defending the leniency towards bad behavior by kids that unchecked sees them drifting into adult criminals.
The father of the boy should get the charges against the man dropped and thank him for trying to set the kid straight. He should also tell his kid he’s lucky the man intervened before the kid did something even worse, something that would get him in jail.
You throw a snake at me-—dead or alive snake—and you will pay a price. I don’t care how old you are.
Kids behaving like this at 12 will be MUCH worse by 18.
Thanks for sharing. That’s a bad kid. That kid was trying to set up that family as “pedophiles”. Where do kids learn such stuff? I had kids like this bother me in Maine last year. A couple of brats suffering from affluenza.

That's the most important point. Do the "parents" defend their little DinduNuffin regardless of the facts, or do they reinforce his continuing education? That kid's father did it right. The "father" in the OP article seems to be part of the problem. The solution will come when the junior-grade thug advances to become a full-grown thug and ends up in prison ... or dead. In a civilized society (which New York is not), he would face the serious possibility of offending against an armed citizen and catching a bullet or three. He would know this, and might moderate his behavior.
