And the fact that those policies have a consensus within the ruling class does not mean that consensus is either as widespread or as permanent among the voters as it is among the "leaders" - of course it's a power question, and the question is not simply who is to be master. The question is whether the policies are good or not based on results.
Those haven't been good, and the media declaring them good has reached its expiry date. That is a problem we're having in the States too - when the media sign on to full support of a set of policies that aren't showing good results, not only does the party lose power but their media allies lose theirs as well. A lot of people are very unhappy about that, there and here, because it was never supposed to happen.
