From the ABC News article: "On Wednesday, House Speaker Paul Ryan said Republicans were working "hand-in-glove" with the White House on the proposal, and White House adviser Stephen Miller expressed support for the bill in a private meeting with Republicans."

I would probably consider Stephen Miller's support pretty good qualification. But I agree that Ryan can't be trusted on this issue.

Trump says he will support both for now, it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Trump makes deals, that is his thing. My biggest "get" is the wall. Period. We never were going to deport the tens of millions already here as it just isn't practical. Some kind of "legalization" is in order, but not without the wall and reform.

I have been telling people for 6 months that the GOPe is tanking the midterms on purpose to try and let the Dems take the House. Then they can impeach Trump and get rid of him.

Any policy towards illegals must - MUST - address the incentives that are set up by that policy. Are you incentivizing more to try their hand at illegal entry or are you incentivizing them to stay home and apply through the legal process?

With 600 million people south of our porous non-existent southern border and untold millions outside the Americas who might also avail themselves of this easy access, there can be only one immigration policy -

Stop giving prizes

for illegal entry.

Any measure that permits those who entered illegally to benefit from that illegal act is amnesty. And any amnesty will bring millions more invaders.

   1. Secure the border in a transparently verifiable way;

   2. End the anchor-baby interpretation of the 14th Amendment;

   3. Enforce E-Verify without exception and with severe penalties;

   4. End chain migration. Entry per individual qualifications, not family ties;

   5. Deportation upon contact with any law enforcement agency - federal, state, or local;

   6. No government benefits beyond critical emergency care (and that ought to be billed back to the home government);

   7. No "Path to Citizenship" - EVER - for anyone who has entered the US illegally.

Any measure which does not accomplish these things is unacceptable. It is de facto amnesty. And it will inevitably, ineluctably encourage millions and millions more illegal entries.

Send a copy to President Trump, your Senators and Reps right now and whenever you communicate with them. When you get fundraising solicitations, include a copy in your reply. Unfortunately, you’re spot on! Anything to “return things to normal,” which is to say to the way the mega donors want it to be. When you watch what’s happening, you really begin to understand what revolutions are all about. Trump is the only thing standing between a return to sanity and the Constitution and a revolution. As the late George Carlin postulated “there is a list of people who need to be killed,” and it’s a lot more serious than offing people who pay for tic-tac’s with a credit card.

The GOP deserves to lose the House, and I no longer care if they do. The RNC has done NOTHING. They have sit back, let Trump do all the work, and are hoping to gain from it in NOV, when they actively and openly worked against him on most of his successes. They are useless. We have only Primaried Out 4 Republicans so far. A handful more are retiring. We need more removed, and the sooner, the better. There were things in that spending bill Trump HAD to have like increasing the budget for the military and restoring it to full strength.

This time he must have a budget for the wall and the basic pillars of law to reduce illegal and legal immigration of non merit immigration. He must have an end to the visa lottery and chain migration as well. These and a merit-based immigration system is a must-have before Trump will sign any DACA agreement. Ryan knows this. Everyone knows this.

I personally would like to see an increase in Border Patrol security and the big one; an end to the anchor baby loophole never meant for illegals to take advantage of. It was meant for slaves who weren't full citizens; black and white slaves alike. A lot people forget there were 300,000 white slaves as well as black slaves.
