To: Eric in the Ozarks

Yes, I remember those (usually centered in Ibaraki, but felt around Tokyo/Chiba).. at least weekly, and almost relaxing >.<

Got used to those within a year of me coming here, and no longer held on to the nearest object when those occurred after about a year.

This one was much like the one in 2011 in that you didn’t hear/feel it coming... :/

I spent two years at Yokota AB, east of Tokyo, 1984 - 1986. Hardly an earthquake in Japan while I was there.

On the other hand, in two years I weathered the tail ends of four typhoons and suffered through three heavy snowstorms. I was SSGT/E5 and essential personnel, so had to go to work no matter what. Slogged through high wind and rain, 3-foot deep snow, and ice.
