M 5.3 - 1km SSW of Takatsuki, Japan
EQs are very rare in Kansai.. and this one does NOT compare to the one we had in 2011 (I was in Chiba at the time.. and that one was beyond intense, and lasted 11 hours straight :p
BUT. for this area, this was big. And it wasn’t a build up (like most EQs here), it was an instant drop, then side by side.
My brother in law and his family live in Takatsuki . Haven’t heard from them yet .
5.9 . 6- on Japan scale . Big . I oughta know - lived through 7 and 7.5 quakes here in Kumamoto within 24 hours 2 years ago .
