James Hansen wishes he wasn't so right about global warming
Associated Press ^ | 18 June 2018 | SETH BORENSTEIN

James Hansen wishes he was wrong. He wasn't.

NASA's top climate scientist in 1988, Hansen warned the world on a record hot June day 30 years ago that global warming was here and worsening. In a scientific study that came out a couple months later, he even forecast how warm it would get, depending on emissions of heat-trapping gases.

The hotter world that Hansen envisioned in 1988 has pretty much come true so far, more or less. Three decades later, most climate scientists interviewed rave about the accuracy of Hansen's predictions given the technology of the time.

Hansen won't say, "I told you so."

"I don't want to be right in that sense," Hansen told The Associated Press, in an interview is his New York penthouse apartment. That's because being right means the world is warming at an unprecedented pace and ice sheets in Antarctica and Greenland are melting.

Hansen said what he really wishes happened is "that the warning be heeded and actions be taken."

They weren't. Hansen, now 77, regrets not being "able to make this story clear enough for the public."

Hansen won't say, "I told you so."

But that seems to be the entire point of this article. Do these people ever tell the truth?

He’s not... Didn’t Mark Steyn prove this in court?

Don’t worry...you aren’t.

What nonsense.

Pure propaganda.

Hansen has been thoroughly discredited.

His “Hocky stick” graph was and is bogus.

Most climate scientists are embarrassed by it.

This doofus teaches at Columbia University in NYC. If his predictions were so spot-on, shouldn’t he be teaching in an underwater classroom by this point 30 years later? Instead, he’s sitting at one of the priciest pieces of real estate in the known world.

Guess what....Our weatherman showed us the record for yesterdays 90 degrees. It was even hotter in 1957.....60+ years ago.

The hotter world that Hansen envisioned in 1988 has pretty much come true so far, more or less.

LESS! Let's look at the predictions and facts:

Have the polar ice caps melted? NO
Have islands been swallowed up by rising sea levels? NO
Has there been a dramatic increase in hurricanes? NO
Has there been a world-wide famine-causing drought? NO
Are temperatures fluctuating in greater deltas? NO
Have there been mass extinctions of plant and wildlife? NO

So the bottom line is Hansen, Gore, and the other snake-oil salesmen have not only been wrong, they have been HORRIBLY WRONG.

These fear-mongers should be sued into poverty by every person, company and government that have wasted trillions of dollars on this scam. Then they should be tried, convicted and sentenced to prison until their predictions come true.

I’ve got great news for Mr. Hansen: He’s probably wrong.

He probably shouldn’t have lied so much then. People aren’t as stupid as he hoped.

""I don't want to be right in that sense," Hansen told The Associated Press, in an interview is his New York penthouse apartment."

A penthouse apartment in NYC, on an academic salary. I'm sure he gets wined and dined at meetings and presentations. He's developed a very nice life for himself, and it's not like he's living in a geodesic dome, showering with recycled rainwater that he heats with the sun, eating the hydroponic vegetables he grew.

"The hotter world that Hansen envisioned in 1988 has pretty much come true so far, more or less."

Well that is certainly a definitive claim.
