Mitt Romney on Monday came out against President Trump’s policy of separating migrant families at the southern border, saying that the U.S. needs a “more compassionate answer” to illegal crossings.
The former Massachusetts governor and current Utah GOP Senate candidate retweeted former first lady Laura Bush, who wrote an op-ed criticizing the policy as “cruel” and “immoral.”

Compassion has gotten us in an undeniable mess. Compassion instead of laws. Compassion instead of criminals being charged. Compassion instead of a southern border. Compassion instead of stopping the trafficing of children and terrorists happening on our borders. Compassion instead of our Constitution. Compassion instead of holding persons responsible for their actions.
Compassion blinds the public to truth and taking care of our United States. Compassion is weakness in a nutshell!

Utah was about 1% “hispanic” in 1980.
Even the Mexican restaurants there had American employees. Spanish was unheard.
Now Salt Lake itself is about 20% hispanic. The Invasion started around 1990 with LA people bringing their slaves with them as they escaped the mess they made of Los Angeles. The Mormon hierarchy turbocharged this when they found out the Mexicans and Central Americans were receptive to conversion.
The Church always wants converts.
So the word went out: more is OK.
And that’s what Bishop Romney is doing: showing the church hierarchy that he’s on board.
The problem is, the rest of the people in Utah aren’t. The “dees was our land” meme doesn’t really sit well with people who recall a short time ago when it was just them, and their ancestors 8 generations ago carving out farms next to the Wasatch with no one there except the occasional Ute.
So what would they do?
What, EXACTLY, would Romney and the troubled First Ladies do differently?
Somehow nobody is ever able to answer that question. But then, nobody in Big Media ever bothers asking it either.
