First lady Melania Trump’s spokeswoman on Thursday slammed media coverage of a jacket the first lady wore as she made a surprise trip to visit immigrant children held in detention centers.
She was photographed boarding a plane to visit the children wearing a jacket that read “I really don’t care. Do U?” across the back. DailyMail.com first reported the jacket that Trump was wearing.
"It's a jacket. There was no hidden message,” first lady communications director Stephanie Grisham said in a statement. “After today's important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn't going to choose to focus on her wardrobe,” adding, "(Much like her high heels last year).”

Whoever picks out her clothing did a giant disservice to Melania and the President having her wear that statement. It was completely out of place.IMO

Pretty sure she’s fed up with the leftard “outrage” over everything and anything she does. And the attacks and verbal abuse against her kid, her husband, herself..
There comes a point where you just say “GFyourself” to them; they’ll be outraged no matter what you do, so why bother.
There’s NEVER a good reason to be polite to nor worry about what people who hate you think.
I agree. Plus it was a big departure from her usually elegant attire.
It’s very likely she chose to wear that jacket herself. The Trumps don’t take any crap, you hit them (or threaten the family) and they hit back. The media knew exactly who the message was intended for, thus all the fake outrage.
They are all lying. Not helpful this jacket was.
With the left, nothing is what it is. Everything is a symbol. Everything is political. When reality doesn’t give them enough symbols, they make them up with fiction and fake news.
There is something wrong with people who take a passionate interest in whatever someone has written on a card, or on a tshirt or a bumper sticker. Get a hobby or a life.
As much as many of us here support the president, I cannot lie. To wear such a jacket in public was a dumb decision.
I can’t think of any good it has done. I was very happy to see The First Lady out of the White House for once, leading tours and giving statements about timely topics. It’s time for her to step into these roles. And then to ruin it all with a passive-rebellious gesture such as that $39.00 jacket.
Sad.
Now, all people talk about is that clear message to an ambiguous target, not her kind words said shortly before. She gives the public the opportunity to pick their own target. If that’s Melania’s idea of ‘pushing back’ against hateful people like Peter Fonda, then she’s doing it wrong. Maybe you should just stay in the background until after Mr. Trump’s next Inaugeration. That, or hire a consultant. Not an insurmountable crisis, of course not, but another unforced error.
The message could just as easily be referencing the hostile press.
None the less, some of our folks have found a mem by the press they can’t shake.
Man up boys and girls.

How many Trump voters did the jacket lose? How many house and senate seats were lost? What her wearing an off the rack jacket and the way the way the press handled it shows them up for the jerks they are. Lighten up Francis.
The MSMLSD saw what they wanted to see and ran with it.
There MUST be a reason for her wearing it.

You are correct. This won’t effect the base Trump voters, but it does not help to ‘widen the tent’ either. A lot of democrats also voted for President Trump. Such episodes as this do not facilitate their crossing over again and taking a chance with the GOP.
