The Nebraska Democratic candidate for attorney general who was accused of attacking his father has stepped aside, citing health reasons.

Van Argyrakis had faced calls to remove himself from the ballot because he was charged with felony strangulation following an altercation with his 82-year-old father on April 8.

Party leaders can choose a replacement Democrat to appear on the ballot.

The angrier they get, the more of this moral and mental decay we are seeing from Dimwitz

The Dem candidate is clearly unqualified to be attorney general—he couldn’t even cover up his own criminal activity. :-(

What kind of MAN attacks an 82 yr. old? He must have had to summon up a bunch of courage to do that.

Bring back public flogging!

“...citing health reasons” - yeah, he was going to get his ass kicked at the polls. Very unhealthy for him.

He’s nuts, Jim.

Euthanasia is a long term objective of the left. Zeke Emanuel, one of the principle architects of Obamacare has publicly stated age 75 is long enough to live. Obamacare has provisions to establish panels to deny service (another reason the Republicans should have completely repealed the bill and not just the single sanction). The leftists in several states and DC have passed bills permitting voluntary euthanasia. Obamacare has established the framework for government panels to deny medical service to prolong life. Over time we will see voluntary euthanasia become more “accepted” and spread to more states at which time a federal judge is likely to proclaim it “right” and it be extended to all 50 states by judicial edict in the same way gay marriage was imposed.

The 2020’s are likely to be the decade when the national debt reaches a crisis level where the government cannot afford the interest payments on incremental debt. Medicare will be bankrupt and dependent on increasing appropriations from the Treasury. Social Security will be close to bankruptcy. The middle class will not be able to tolerate higher loads of debt. Government will be forced to make hard choices. Look for progressives to find the cost savings in shortening the life span of the elderly.

There are several advantages of using the power of government to encourage premature death of the elderly:
1) Reduced medicare costs.
2) End to social security payments
3) Estate taxes add money to the government purse (look for Democrats to reinstate confiscatory estate taxes when back in power)
4) Fewer people equates to less impact on the environment.

By 2025 I anticipate voluntary euthanasia will be allowed throughout the US and non-profit leftists groups such as Planned Parenthood will be receiving government grants for “end of life counseling”. Likely medical care practices will require doctors and hospitals to provide end of life counseling to people with terminal illnesses and the elderly over age 75. This counseling will strongly encourage the elderly (or family members with power of attorney) to make the “right” decision for the individual and society.

Imagine a future where working children and grandchildren of elderly citizens are charged a special surtax for maintenance of elderly family members which goes away when the elderly family members are deceased. The imposition of such a tax would increase the pressure on many elderly people to opt out of life.

Whereas today we see higher numbers of people living active lives in their 90’s, many having recovered from heart attacks and cancer, by the 2030’s it may become rare to see a person over age 80.

If that’s the ‘after’ picture, it looks like the wimp might have gotten bested by his 82 year old father.
