it would seem that the entire crop of judges would be deserving of this unexpected vacation.

The ruling was extensively covered and concerns only the administrative law judges. This has nothing to do with the existing judges on District and Circuit courts. All these judges were nominated and approved by the Senate, so they are going nowhere.
