Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., on Friday reportedly joked about the Russia investigation at a high-dollar retreat on Martha’s Vineyard and told Democratic donors to “buckle up.”

Warner reportedly joked to donors that he might reveal sensitive information known only to him and Special Counsel Robert Mueller who’s investigating the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with Russia.

“If you get me one more glass of wine, I’ll tell you stuff only Bob Mueller and I know. If you think you’ve seen wild stuff so far, buckle up. It’s going to be a wild couple of months,” he reportedly said, which was understood as a joke.

The only joke is on the American taxpaying public. These people should be in a prison off the US coast somewhere.

From the article: "...The retreats often have a price tag for the attendees. In 2009, the attendees had to fork out over $30,000 for the event, according to the Sunlight Foundation, a non-profit advocating for transparency which published the invitation..."

It's laughable. Check their mission statement out:

OUR MISSION
The Sunlight Foundation is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that uses civic technologies, open data, policy analysis and journalism to make our government and politics more accountable and transparent to all.

Our vision is for technology to enable more complete, equitable and effective democratic participation. Our overarching goal is to achieve changes in the law to require real-time, online transparency for all government information. And, while our work began in 2006 with only a focus on the U.S. Congress, our open government work now takes place at the local, state, federal and international levels.

We believe that information is power, or, to put it more finely, disproportionate access to information is power. We are committed to improving public access to public information by making it available to the public, online.

We approach our work in a number of ways. Over the years, have worked with thousands of software developers, local transparency activists, bloggers, citizens, advocates, librarians, acadademics and journalists, involving them in distributed research projects, hackathons, and training. Sunlight’s analysts push for improved transparency policy, working directly with governments at all levels. Our writers cover political influence and government transparency using data journalism techniques.

Our projects include reporting on President Trump’s conflicts of interest, ethics and transparency in the federal government, monitoring federal data integrity, our Open Cities work with cities around the nation, and international anti-corruption and democracy initiatives.

Our efforts have produced results. Over the past decade, we served more than 4.2 billion API calls (and counting), indicating how much the data we liberated was needed. Our reporting has been cited by the world’s preeminent journalists. Our research has led to congressional hearings. Our tools have stripped problematic measures from bills. We won a major victory when, at our urging, the federal government agreed to begin the process of releasing all datasets held by federal agencies. We were part of a coalition that passed historic reforms to the Freedom of Information Act and the DATA Act, fundamentally changing how the public is informed about federal spending.

In 2018, we are pushing for the passage of the OPEN Government Data Act, the Honest Ads Act, and other reforms in Washington that will hold the Trump administration accountable to the public it serves.

Around the world, from cities to states to nations, Sunlight is standing up for public information that’s open and accessible to the public.

Just a little more digging, and I found a source (The Capital Research Center Blog) that verified my suspicions:

"...The Sunlight Foundation’s funding provides further evidence that it is not as nonpartisan as it claims. Its money comes overwhelmingly from the Left. For example, among its large philanthropic supporters are George Soros’s Foundation to Promote Open Society ($752,066 since 2010); Ford Foundation ($650,000 since 2011); William & Flora Hewlett Foundation ($310,000 since 2011); Soros’s Open Society Institute ($250,000 in 2008); Omidyar Network Fund Inc. ($14,481,184 since 2008); Rockefeller Family Fund ($4,750,000 since 2007); Google Foundation ($2.1 million in 2012); John S. and James L. Knight Foundation ($1,771,678 since 2009); and Craigslist Charitable Fund ($85,000 since 2010)..."

Lest there be any doubt about the effort to overthrow this country (as we know it) and where it originates. "Open Society" we know about, but..."The Ford Foundation"...The Rockefeller Family Fund"..."The Google Foundation". The only one missing here is "The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation". Make no mistake, While the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and The Google Foundation are not officially part of Microsoft and Google, both companies have matching funds. Ford no longer has matching for employees, but IIRC, at one point maybe four years ago it was 2x or 3x matching funds.

Always thought there should be a deep sea prison. Any problems with the inmates? Just open the floodgates. Nothing ankle deep water and a continuous loop of Johnny Cash’s “Five Feet High and Rising” can’t handle.

I missed this piece in the excerpt I posted:

"Hackathons and training"...doing this right out in the open, boasting about it...advertising it.

We all understand "Hackathon", so I assume "training" is training on how to hack, break into systems and such.

For $100 more he will reveal all. The Russian conspiracy is nothing but a fundraiser tool. Which is why the Democrats don’t want it to end.

I don’t think he was joking. Mueller and his Dem team of witch hunters have something they believe will hurt Trump. The Senate Intel committee with Warner as the ranking member has been a disaster. The Rep members with Burr as chair and others like Rubio have not defended this President.

NB. Warner is part of the Gang of 8 intelligence group that receives the most sensitive Intel briefings. It includes McConnell, Schumer, Ryan, Pelosi, Burr, Warner, Schiff, and Nunes. I have no doubt that Warner has a special pipeline into the Mueller team.

The Reps need to make a big deal of this.

The news is they have Trump caught red handed on video exchanging foreign and domestic policy with a known Russian collaborator!

Not just one video! Three such videos of these meetings!

While I detest this group, a Hackathon is not what you think.

I have helped out on many Hackathons which helped young people learn to be better programmers and technologists.

Hackathon: A hackathon (also known as a hack day, hackfest or codefest) is a design sprint-like event in which computer programmers and others involved in software development, including graphic designers, interface designers, project managers, and others, often including subject-matter-experts, collaborate intensively on software projects. The goal of a hackathon is to create usable software. Hackathons tend to have a specific focus, which can include the programming language used, the operating system, an application, an API, or the subject and the demographic group of the programmers. In other cases, there is no restriction on the type of software being created.

I don’t think he is bluffing. He may very well have secret communications with Mueller, and have information that the other Republicans on the committee do not have. That alone should give one pause about the credibility of this information, and the impartiality of the Mueller investigation.

This will all be released between now and election day, for maximum impact.

Non-profits are a travesty. The $30,000 fee paid by the participants funds their five star “”retreats” where they schmooze with each other. If one of us holds a party, we can’t take a tax deduction for its costs. The elite sure have different rules. I am for ending all tax-exempt status.

LOL, I wrote you a response this morning, and it was right at the point FR went down! When I clicked post, I got the error message that lasted all day!

Basically, I said that I might fully agree with you if it were some other context, but...even still, I appreciate that clarification. I tend to be old school on these things, so I take “hackathon” at face value...I have always felt that with liberals, you can find out what they are really up to just by listening to them...

In that case, when they say “hackathon” I take them at their word, but will defer to you on this!

I tend to largely agree.

I work for a non-profit in health care, so I don’t think all non-profits are bad.

What really gets my goat is the non-profit status for churches that are supposed to stay out of the political arena, but they just flaunt that, as if they are daring anyone to object.

That really irritates me.
