It happens a lot. CPR can actually be dangerous, you can have ribs puncture stuff. People who have calcified ribs or bone weakening or cartilage issues could really be damaged.

EMS guy told me last week if you dont crack the sternum when applying CPR youre not doing it right. Actually its more like breaking the sternum free from the rib cage....first compression usually sounds like crushing a bag of chips.
