What to watch: Voters in both parties will cast ballots on Tuesday in a primary that brings Colorado one step closer to determining who will succeed Gov. John Hickenlooper, a Democrat who is not running for re-election because of term limits.

Absolutely everyone I voted for in a contested race lost. Colorado is a lost cause. Say hello to governor polis and california type regulations. We’ll be retiring and moving out next year anyway, but sorry to see my home state commit suicide.
How is Stapleton?
I don’t share your pessimism.
Probably true; but at least one bright spot.
Email from Jon Caldara (Independence Institute) received a few minutes ago:
As Im watching the numbers roll in tonight from Colorados primary elections I just had to tell you what the news might not pick up on, even if they noticed it. The big winner in tonights Republican Primary is our Taxpayers Bill of Rights.
You might recall last year several week-kneed Republicans in the state legislature worked with 100% of the Democrats to blow a massive hole in TABOR. Senate Bill 267 labeled a giant tax hike as a fee and a $2 billion debt package as certificates of participation as a way to avoid going to the voters as required by TABOR. The end result is that while Trump gave you an income tax cut, these Republicans took it all away, without even asking.
Tonight Republican voters made very clear when you betray us, when you betray our Taxpayer Bill of Rights, you will NOT go any higher in political office.
Three of the anemic Republicans who voted for this grand betrayal had the gall to run for higher office. State Senator Owen Hill wanted to become a U.S. Congressman, State Representative Polly Lawrence wanted to become Colorados State Treasurer, and State Representative Dan Thurlow wanted to graduate to State Senator.
All three lost in their primaries tonight.
Republicans should take note. You mess with our Taxpayer Bill of Rights, you go no higher in elected office (at least as a Republican).
Polis is a communist trust-fund dilettante.
Don’t count Stapleton out.
Polis will almost certainly win. Republicans hanging on to the state Senate would delay the inevitable.
Well be retiring and moving out next year anyway, but sorry to see my home state commit suicide.
I just retired a few months ago, but both of my parents are still alive and living together in a nursing home. I'm their power of attorney, and as long as they're around I'm not going anywhere.
I do look at the politics of Wyoming (just 100 miles north) with envy.
We have friends (in TX) that are retiring and moving TO Colorado. Maybe they pay much attention to the politics.
Well, the weather's certainly better....
The bad news is that the Dems outpolled the Reps by about 70K votes.

That’s the first thing I looked at. You’re right, not good.
That said, the Reps outpolled the dems in OK by about 50k votes. Colorado is lost - too many CA voters left and landed there, bring with them their lib “values”, forgetting why CA is a pit and why they left CA in the first place.
You’re right. They screw up one place, don’t like it but can’t figure out why, go somewhere else and repeat the process.
We need all the conservatives in Colo. that we can get.
Calirado has an open primary system now. I expect everything is messed up with all the monkey-wrenching going on.
FYI
:-)
The summer weather is definitely better :-)
