Pelosi says Ocasio-Cortez win shouldn't be viewed as something larger

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on Wednesday that progressive New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's surprise win should not be viewed at something larger within the Democratic Party.

"They made a choice in one district. So let’s not get yourself carried away as an expert on demographics and the rest of that. Within the caucus or outside the caucus, we are...again, we have an array of genders, generations, geography, and there is opinion in our caucus, and we’re proud of that," Pelosi told reporters at a news conference.

"The fact that in a very progressive district in New York, it went more progressive than...well, Joe Crowley is a progressive, but more she’s left than Joe Crowley, is about that district. It is not to be viewed as something that stands for anything else. Are we excited about another generation of people coming into the commons? I am particularly excited that so many women are running across the country, because when I came to Congress usually people had raised their families or done something else before they came. The men were an average ten years younger when they came. And now we have women stepping up earlier, weighing home and work in a way that’s going to benefit all the American people," she said.

ETC...

She sounds like she's dismissing a Republican win.

Pelosi is trying to hide the fact that the Dems are now far to the left. The Rats want their fools to think they are main stream.

Crowley was out of touch.

The “something larger” is a red tsunami in November as reasonable Americans flee the socialist Dim party.

And Perez may be right re a larger pattern, looking at it from an ethnic politics POV. There aren’t that many ethnically dominated seats that have not already produced an ethnic politician. This one was lagging the trend.

Doesn’t want the socialist label stuck on the Dims? Afraid it will drive even more Dims and independents to the right?Sorry, Nancy, that train left a long time ago.

No room in the tent for moderate White Men. The only White men who will temporarily hang on in the Democrat Socialist Party are activist extreme socialists like Bernie, Any Cuomo and Gov. Moonbeam.

In many ways it reflects something much larger but not progressive politics. Its all about demographics. There are very few Irish left in the Bronx and Queens. The predominant ethnic group is Hispanic. Those Hispanic voters much preferred to vote for a young Hispanic woman than an old Irish white guy. It will be necessary to persuade at least some of those Hispanic voters that their real future well being is to avoid turning America into the places they left and to start voting Republican.

Eventually the Democrat party will be replaced by the La Raza party.

Nancy is whistling past the graveyard.

But if a Republican loses by one vote, she will proclaim a blue tsunami come November. I have nothing but disdain for that harridan.

The spot for white men still exists if no one ethnic minority dominates. If your district is 1/3 each black, white and Hispanic, the white politician has a significant advantage.
